Irrelevant. He clearly wasn't hot digging it when he crashed and it seems like he wasn't even piloting the helicopter at all.

They crashed into a mountain side because of fog. They weren't doing barrel rolls waiting to take off. God forbid you have fun w a helicopter and pilot get different experiences.
