Maybe it's the cynic in me but it seems like this church is making their bid to be known as the Kobe Bryant Church since now they don't have to worry about preserving his privacy and potentially scaring him away.

So, what's the reasoning on why he didn't save him?
The same reasoning on why He didn't save anybody who has passed that you know. Everybody has a timeline. And it's not up to us to figure out when or why. So the point is, live each day like it's your last and treat others accordingly.

Jesus didn't ask us to love him, he asked us to love each other.

Mathew 22:36-40

"Teacher what is the greatest commandment in the law?"

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Since Jesus = God = Holy Spirit he indeed did ask us to love him. Love him with all our heart and all our soul, and all our mind. THEN love our neighbor...

Just saying.

Ehhhhh....

Not really the point I was making.

Jesus didn't care if you loved him or God.

Love your fellow man is what he preached to us. That would gain you favor with God, whether you believed in him or not.

Remember:

Old Testament- revere God or know his wrath.

New Testament- love your fellow man and treat him with respect and kindness, and know God's love.

This gave me chills. I told Mrs Pimp and she said "that gave me chills". So to recap, chills.
RIP to all aboard and prayers for all who loved them.

Dont strive for a good relationship with Jesus, God, etc. Strive for a good relationship with your fellow man. That's what's important. Jesus didn't ask us to love him, he asked us to love each other. At least that's what I understood of his teachings. But I'm a confirmed non-practicing Catholic who studies Buddhism; maybe I'm wrong.

I can confirm that #KobeBryant, a devout Catholic, came to this church early Sunday morning to worship. He was here between 6 and 7am.... just hours before the fatal crash.

Uhh... I meean, good for him, but why is this news or anyone's business even?

thats a shame

Kobe was actually raised Catholic. We don't mind converts, anyway. We openly accept into the flock those that are big enough to admit they were wrong.

Hell can only hold so many protestants and atheists, after all.

This makes me think more of the song Blasphemous Rumours by Depeche mode.

quote:

Girl of sixteen
Whole life ahead of her
Slashed her wrists
Bored with life
Didn't succeed
Thank the Lord

For small mercies

Fighting back the tears
Mother reads the note again
Sixteen candles burn in her mind
She takes the blame
It's always the same
She goes down on her knees
And prays

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

Girl of eighteen
Fell in love with everything
Found new life in Jesus Christ
Hit by a car
Ended up
On a life support machine

Summer's day
As she passed away
Birds were singing
In the summer's sky
Then came the rain
And once again
A tear fell
From her mother's eye

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

I don't want to start
Any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's
Got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find Him laughing

Instances like these should really question your faith.
I'd love to hear the complete rationale behind a situation like this where a person apparently turns his life around for the good (not that Kobe was ever bad), he's trying to be a good father, then bam, whole life gone.
He could have been whoring it up a Vegas casino and probably still be alive today.
I want answers.

I’m not gonna say all Catholics, but the Catholic religion is leading a lot of sheep to the slaughter. Purgatory, confessing sins to a man, who thinks he is the vicor of Christ, rosaries, worshiping Mary, etc. So many works.
