I can confirm that #KobeBryant, a devout Catholic, came to this church early Sunday morning to worship. He was here between 6 and 7am.... just hours before the fatal crash. He came alone, as I am told he often did. #RIPMamba #KTLAmorningNews

Remembering Kobe at the Church he attended

quote:

At Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach, he was a loving father of four daughters who shared the sweet joy of cupcakes. Bryant attended Mass regularly at the church, including on Sunday at 7 a.m., about two hours before the Lakers star, his 13-year-old daughter and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash about 70 miles to the northwest in Calabasas. He was showering them with cupcakes, and he put them in car seats and buckled them in so carefully. Julie Hermes, parishioner "He will be missed -- his spirit, his joy, his smile," said parishioner Rosemary Egkan.

There was something else that stood out about the 6-foot-6 Bryant at church. "When I give him communion I have to put my arm and feet up like that so I can reach him," said Heny Russell.

I was thinking after this happened if he had a relationship with God as I do about many people when I hear they die. I hope he did.

I worry about this as well when people die suddenly. Based on this I imagine he did.

I don’t think kobe is burning in hell for all of eternity, whether he went to mass or not, if that’s what you’re concerned about

So, what's the reasoning on why he didn't save him?

Dont strive for a good relationship with Jesus, God, etc.

Strive for a good relationship with your fellow man.

That's what's important.

Jesus didn't ask us to love him, he asked us to love each other.

At least that's what I understood of his teachings. But I'm a confirmed non-practicing Catholic who studies Buddhism; maybe I'm wrong.

Well, maybe this world is Purgatory, and he served his time so he was allowed to move on to Heaven.

It might have done him good.

We don't know what happens after this plane of existence.

In fairness, all of the atheists and agnostics are getting their cards punched one day, too.

They go hand in hand boss

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”
1 John 4:20 English Standard Version
