My ex did legit modeling. She networked and they would send her items to take photos with and post online. She lost a ton of followers by dating Fidel Castro's grandson for a couple week. Shockingly many Cubans did not like that as she is Cuban

Check out Clay Edwards/Save JXN. He's amassed quite a following on IG, TikTok, and FB. I know some of what he makes and it's not bad. Not bad at all.

I have a family member who has about a quarter of a million followers across different platforms. She gets so many sponsorship opportunities that she's almost at the point of paying a manager part time to read the contracts and decide which ones are worth her time. Some of them offer cash, some of them offer free products, it just depends. A lot of companies have payment tiered based on your number of followers or views, with incentives if your partnership with them does well (for example, an extra $1000 if they sell X number of units from people using your link).

I have an old friend that I used to work with who does homestead farm content. He has @450k followers across all platforms. He quit his “job” 7 years ago and only does social media. I don’t know what he makes, but he bought a bunch of land, built a new house, has super nice equipment and the best looking fences you will see. I don’t know, but I suspect that Kubota gave him a tractor and other businesses give him stuff. When we last talked, probably 5 years ago, he was making something like 150k on social media and his channel has grown a lot since then.

We make good money off social media. I left my career to help my wife make it a legit operation with employees. Best decision ever. Proof that the American dream still exists.

I would not interfere too much with her vision. She built that herself, and its worked popularity wise. Now comes the income part. I had that mindset with my wife and it was a wise one.

Consistency is important, such as timing of posts, and how often the follower should expect a post.

Get on with an agency. Agencies reach out to us all the time. We work with a few. They will find you if your content is growing. LTK was the original we used to help us get a boost, but we don't do too much for them anymore.

We succeeded by doing something new that no one else was doing at the time, which included not showing our face or family life, we invested heavily in advertising including spending money we did not have, which was an all in risk and freaked us out (success or bankruptcy) but it worked. Our house was working 14 hour days for a year building the brand, and worked 7 days a week for a few years, then came reinvesting into the brand, etc...etc...Now we are copied. We still work weekends but its on our schedule.

Make it a brand. Have catch phrases. Get a logo made by an actual designer and not some AI BS. Trademark it if you have to. We were one of the few to federally trademark our brand. That "R" subtly tells agencies that we are legit.

I would say we got in at the right time. If we started from scratch today it would be an even greater challenge.

Once she can establish relationships with others in her industry, it will help her grow even more.

She is very young so let her do what she wants and let her grow naturally, but just offer her guidance along the way. Don't get your fingers all in her business.

The misconception is that its easy to do. Its not. It takes a combination of natural ability, taste, design, dedication, combined with analytics, timing, consistency, etc. Agencies have all these stipulations on the content, deadlines, review and approval, etc. I can't tell you the amount of inquiries we received from acquaintances and mutual friends wanting to do the same thing once they realized we made it. We are tired of giving advice, but most of the inquiries from people are how to make money with doing something so simple. They think its a slam dunk. It looks simple and easy but it is not. Many of our high profile peers all have had nervous breakdowns along the way. Its a highly competitive business, and for every one of us there are thousands of people wanting and competing for the same thing.

Before I go, when we first started everyone thought we were crazy, stupid, and foolish. We never let that affect us, and we are so grateful that we had the courage to ignore the backlash from family and social circles.

I wish the best of luck to your daughter.

I went from 1.1 million to 3.7 million FB views in 90 days over the past year.

It doesn't necessarily translate into more views for my articles, but it's a good start for visibility. I get a lot more engagement on IG which has less than 10% of my FB flock.

Or create a website to sell her art to everyone.

I would like to see some of her work.

Tik Tok is for the lowest common denominators in society. Some unemployed lafayette housewife who's not even qualified to cook or wash dishes at Applebees has over a million followers. Shows how much of a cesspool that site is.

What does that have to do with anything at all here?

My daughter has built a very large following on TikTok by posting her artwork. She doesn’t show her face or speak….she simply shares her art, and it has grown exponentially.

I’m currently talking with someone to learn more about possible opportunities, but I wanted to reach out here as well to gather ideas and/or hear from anyone with experience in this area.

What are some realistic ways someone with a strong, niche following like this could begin generating income? Just looking for a direction, advice about who to contact, finding promotions, or understanding the first steps toward monetizing a platform like hers, if that’s even possible. Mainly just want to see if it’s something SHE can profit from, even if it’s $20…she is 15 so not much is needed. But I think it’s a good lesson as far as her earning something for her work.

ETA: Over 100k followers, over 30M views over about a year now.

Is she wanting to sell her art?

You might look into Patreon. From Wiki:

quote:

Patreon is an American monetization platform operated by Patreon, Inc., that provides business tools for content creators to run a subscription service and sell digital products globally. It helps artists and other creators earn a recurring income by providing rewards and perks to its subscribers. Patreon charges a commission of 8 to 12 percent of creators' monthly income, in addition to payment processing fees.

Patreon is used by writers, videographers, webcomic artists, video game developers, podcasters, musicians, adult content creators, and other kinds of creators who post regularly online. It allows artists to receive funding directly from their fans, or patrons, on a recurring basis or per work of art.

I know a few guys who use it to charge people for their "inside" information about college football recruiting.

Yes. Good friend. Will go further. She started affiliate marketing P90X waaaay back. Before social media. When Facebook took off, she posted about it and how it was profitable. Time went by and she sold gobs and led teams of pyramid women. Eventually, she was so well known in that world sge appeared in future Chaline Johnson videos and offshoots of P90X. Evolved into supplements, exercise digital and lots of other crap.

Her name is Jackie Pool Woodfin. Self made multimillionaire if you want to look her up. Currently doing both fitness marketing and is a Doula
, which is her passion. She's made at least 50 women millionaires as well. Crazy shite.

They're doing stuff they love to do and making money off it.

I bet they have a much happier life than you do.

He's just pissed that other people have figured out how to make a good living by doing things that he thinks are not worthwhile.

Deep down inside, he's wondering "Why couldn't I have thought of that?"

I have a co-worker who makes as much from TikTok as he does at work. He gets a lot of cool stuff sent to him by businesses and startups to do videos on and he gets to keep the stuff. Nice side gig if you have a large number of followers.
