It's true. People complain, but never change their voting habits.

Does not feel good to only net half your salary.

The Republican Party message should be “look at your paycheck. We believe all that money should be in your own wallet. you can directly inject it into the economy without the US Gubment skimming some off the top”

Wishful thinking .......I’d love for it to be the case, but I seriously doubt it.

I like it, humility followed by being pissed off at the government for taking his hard earned $$$.

I wish some of these loaded athletes would take a stand and speak out on big government taxation!

Wait, it's a lot more than 40%. There's state taxes, then FICA, Suda, Fuda BS. You pay 15% including the company match. And make no mistake that is a tax on YOU. Most of Chiasson's income is spared FICA, but he's probably still paying about 45%, depending on his state of earnings.

And once he gets $55 out of every $100 he's paid, he still has to pay sales tax on everything he buys and property tax on his home(s).

That's why I cheat!

NFL players have to pay taxes to the state where the games are played too.

Not to mention his agent's cut, and he probably pays a pretty hefty bit to the player's union.

Republican citizens believe that. The Republicans in DC outside Rand Paul, Cruz and Trump do not believe that yet republican citizens keep voting them in.

I have always maintained that if everyone got paid in full and had to write a check BACK to the government, things would change.

“who’s FICA and why’s he getting all my money.”

I had the same discussion w/ each of my kids when they got their first "non-cash" paycheck from their summer job. Their reaction was so predictable. They always had that first paycheck calculated to the penny w/o allowing for deductions like FICA.
