What about the some buyers that would prefer the best appliance they can get instead of matching?

I've been in the restaurant business for years so this is where my head is, but it seems like it might be just me.

Anyone have any experience with the Frigidaire Pro line? We looked at Kitchen Aid sets, but this just isn't the house for that level. LG and Bosh are still on the table as well.

We did the same. Dishwasher kitchen aid, microwave and stove Samsung and fridge was Frigidaire.

We did our remodel this past may. Went by price and best reviews. We made sure all stainless was the same so it all matched. House sold in 2 days this past July

If its not a forever home you'll come out better buying matching bundle off ajmadison or another appliance site of the like.

Should be able to get shipped to your door under 3k

I made the initial move away 23 years ago. I was always going to retire back here but a good job brought me back sooner. Plus, I didn't really feel like hanging pictures back in my old house anyway after the remodel.

I have lived in my house 10+ years and had no idea if my appliances are the same brand. So I went and looked. I have a GE fridge, Frigidaire stove, and Kenmore dishwasher but they are all the same color/finish

You're not going to make everyone happy. For every person that wants matchy matchy, there is one person that would prefer the best in each category.

Same way that painting every room in your house some shade of beige is safe, but there are a large number of buyers that will just see a whole house repaint job.

Contractor just started on our remodel yesterday. We are not going to have matching appliances. They will all have a stainless steel finish but three different brands. While I agree it would be nice to have all the same brand we looked at function and features and picked what we felt was the best for us.

Go for quality. There is a lot of variation within brands particularly of stoves and side by side refrigerator-freezer combos. Stove quality will be a better selling point than decor match.
OTH, you may want to take a good professional stove with you when you move.

If you truly care about resale definitely go same. They will look the best together. There are subtle differences between brands.

If someone wants the ‘best’ then they will likely not agree with your choices no matter what.

You can also usually get a good deal buying all the same. The price difference in buying all the same would likely make up for any performance or whatever issues.

I agree with this. If you've got a Thermador fridge, Wolf range with a Bosch dishwasher, you're probably not turning anyone off.

A Frigidaire fridge with a Kenmore range and a Whirlpool dishwasher might look cheap

no one cares about brand names matching, all the care about is that the finishes are matching so if you do stainless do all stainless

How is an OCD person OK with dinged appliances?

valid point

but many of those scratch and dent stuff has dings on the backs or sides that will never show

as long as the front side you see is good, even an OCD person can accept that

People won't care about your appliances unless you are going high end. If so, get a statement piece. We had a CornuFe range that made the kitchen look like it belonged in a real chef's kitchen. Couple that with the counter depth integrated Thermador fridge and the integrated Miele dishwasher, and people looked at the kitchen as very much a "Wow!" part of the house. That and the marble countertops and whatnot.

Yep, if you have those, you are actually making the kitchen a selling point of the house.

make them match, mix matching makes me think something went wrong

Matching appliances makes me think the buyer did not care about quality or performance and aimed for visual appeal only. I would immediately start wondering which appliance would crap out first.

When they all match, buyers may then feel locked in to that brand. If you replace one, it raises the question of whether all should be replaced.

Don't match brands for the sake of matching brands. Anyone who says to do so is just wrong unless you go with Kenmore. I only say Kenmore because then it'll actually be different brands if you get the highest quality unit in each.

Use a reliable consumer rating source. I still like Consumer reports, I just wade through the "green" part of the rating and look at the reliability and ease of use factor.

Once you home in on a couple of brands amd models of each product, go somewhere that you can compare the look of the various stainless items and see which match best. Stainless from brand A ans Brand B may vary and there are often slight variants (like fingerprint resistance) within brands.

Good Luck.
