I have been to Alaska twice and done a few whale watching tours plus seen tons from the cruise ship and still have yet to see an Orca. It kills me because they are my absolutely favorite. Much more beautiful and more exciting than a Humpback any day of the week.

But sharks are a-holes because they eat friendly people at the beach.
Is it the sharks fault for mistaken humans for whales?

I've seen them downtown before, and on the road system but it's just pure luck. They've been really active this summer, we saw a super pod of several dozen about a month ago.

Orcas are the most bad arse predators on the planet.

They solve problems to hunt

Prey isn't even safe on the beach

They even play with their food

And they bitch slap great whites for the lulz

Who’s else would it be? Shark was the lone decision maker. Don’t try to pass the buck.

They think orcas evolved from a carnivorous land animal.

Yeah, that didn't happen

Killer whales aren’t whales at all.

In Spanish their name means whale killer, but the words are switched around. They are actually a type of dolphin

The killer whale probably played cool with the birds for a long time so they started trusting him. You can see that with how many are hanging out by him. Similarly to how animals get used to humans.

Ol boy pulled a pretty big dick move going after his friends.

I have mixed feelings about the orcas targeting great whites.

On one hand, I love mother nature's natural movements and tendencies with zero remorse involved. However, great whites are my favorite animal, and it sucks that they're a food source for such an efficient predator.

I find it odd that you have any sort of emotional response to this other than "holy shite, that is bad arse that a big arse whale can operate with the precision necessary to remove the one organ he wants."

Fair enough.

It's definitely not an "emotional response" as you say, rather I just used a common figure of speech in "mixed feelings" to describe my view point. I am merely an observer of the earth and all her creatures; I like great whites a lot; and it'd be cool to read a report of them flipping the script on an orca and biting off a tongue or something.

Relative to this thread, this isn't new information that whales/dolphins are smarter than fish..it has always been this way.
