You sound selfish, immature, and poor. I highly encourage you to never have kids, though given the aforementioned qualities, the chance seems exceedingly small.

Normal mature adults find responsibility rewarding.

I was afraid to have children. In my experience from being around people with children, they can be a great blessing in your life or your worst nightmare. Also know lots of people that have had several children and 1 turns out terrible and the others turn out fine. The good kids don’t seem to make up for the 1 that went bad.
Something I always thought about-every prisoner had parents and they weren’t all shitty parents. In fact,I know several people that were good citizens and 1 of their kids went to prison.Actually happened in my extended family,1 of my cousins went to prison, his brother and sister were accomplished, successful people. It was heartbreaking for his parents.

I wish your parents would have made the decision NOT to have kids.

Congrats. The thousands of years of ancestral blood, passed down through both of your lineages, the unique genetic makeup, the family history, the melding of two families, the legacies--all of it will die with you.

Paternal great-great-grandfather was a venerated war surgeon for the Louisiana army in the Civil war, doubtless saved many lives. Great-grandfather was Lieutenant governor of Louisiana. Father was a professor and department head at L.S.U. Served in Army in Korea. Mother was nationally prominent medical librarian.

Maternal great-grandfather was editorial writer for the Times-Picayune. Grandfather was civil engineer for Port of New Orleans.

All productive and valuable members of society. I'm glad they had children, and proud to be their offspring.

Honestly if you can list this many selfish reasons not to have children, society is likely better off if you don’t. Thanks.

Extremely expensive on every level imaginable - depends

Annoying - only if you suck

They smell - you smell

They constantly break and ruin things - only if you suck

Huge burden on your life - only if you suck

Extremely risky that they will make a huge mistake later in life and you are left to deal with the mess. - only if you suck

High pitched screams in public - only if you suck

Temper tantrums - only if you suck

Can potentially be the reason you and your S/O get a divorce - only if you suck

You can forget about any kind of travel alone - only if you suck

They are on the payroll for at least 25 years - depends

Destroys wife's body for good - only if you suck

Lack of sleep - okay, yes , but it's a heartwarming lack of sleep

Dirty diapers - aren't that bad and they are out of em fast if you don't suck.

No more hobby's other than kids hobby's - only if you suck

Daycare - okay yeah but if your parents are alive it's only cuz you suck

School cost - okay

College - only if you suck

Vehicles - good used ones in the cheap

Insurance - yeah here's the rub

Doctors visits - and?

Oh, and did I mention how expensive they are? - only if you suck.

Most of these Cons are on you, brah.

It's obviously not a good idea for you and your wife. Some people are simply not parent material. Y'all are in that category.

Based on your list, I don't believe you could ever understand why other folks want and have children. You're making the best decision for the two of you.

Yea, you were really looking for a good conversation here.

You can believe what you want and be wrong about it, that's a you problem.

Kids are awesome. For me the positive value easily outweighs the negative, not really close.

They're not "extremely" expensive. Maybe you just can't afford to have a child

Annoying
And yet you're married, but yea, wives are NEVER annoying, right? Literally anyone you spend a lot of time with will be annoying.

They smell

So do guys

Extremely risky that they will make a huge mistake later in life and you are left to deal with the mess.

If they're over 18, I can choose to deal and not deal with whatever I want

You can forget about any kind of travel alone

THis is false and made up

Destroys wife's body for good

So is this

quote:

No more hobby's other than kids hobby's

So is this

Daycare
School cost
College
Vehicles
Insurance
Back to the above, it sounds more like you can't afford to have a kid AND your wife wouldn't let you hang out with your friends and do shite if you did.

Anyone that finds the only positive to having kids is for them to provide long term care doesn't need to have kids.

Based on your list you should not have children. You are at a point in your life where it is about you, your wife, your stuff, your comfort, your future, your money, your security, your flexibility, you, you, you.

I'm not saying your'e too selfish to have children but right now I would say that is exactly the case.

Me n wife married at 23. Didnt want kids.. We did our thing, lived life as we wanted, byt when we got 33 we decided we wanted kids. Had our little boy at 34... now he is about to turn 3, and i wish i had him when i was 23. Just nothing like it, and its not anything you can explain to someone who doesnt have kids. Everyday is just amazing with him. He brings me more joy than anything ive ever had in life.
