At least they are selling you something (candy) instead of asking for a mere donation.

My son's soccer team does fund raisers, and "shaking cans" in front of Walmart is one of them. I don't let my son go.

at least they are not sending their kids into the middle of traffic with buckets looking for nickels and dimes for basketball uniforms. It is always around the college drive and perkins road intersection

In the utopia known as Texas, the worst I see is a couple girls selling Girl Scout cookies at HEB. I suggest everyone move out of BR. It’s gross.
I had my most outrageous experience with a bum in Dallas. Dude was out of his mind on meth

The kids outside of wal mart are the same ones that will come up to your tailgate on Saturdays.
I got out of my vehicle today and a bum walked up to me 10 seconds later. Then I got to the door of the store and a kid asks if I want to buy some candy. Then when I leave another kid asks me if I want to buy some candy.
You know, this never happens to me at Calandro's.

We have probably the nicest Walmart in the Chatty. The culcha always sends their kids to it to sell crap I don't want for their sports teams and other things I don't care about. They always get pissed off when I ignore them too.

I respect the hustle. Just like bums who sell water or offer to clean my windshield. Much better than sitting on the corner with a sign.

We ALWAYS buy candy when they come through the parade ground on Football game days. We take them skittles and M&Ms in the game with us.

The handout is the difference in price between what I could buy it from the store and the beggars price. Never mind that 90% of the people don't even want the candy in the first place.
We are just going to have to agree that your kids are no better than a bum on the corner.
Then buy it in the store dumbass. No one is making you buy it but you give money in exchange for something. That is not a handout. Guy with a sign says I’m poor need money-you give him a dollar that is a handout.
My kids will on occasion give the bum on a corner a couple of bucks and not judge them because they were raised right, can afford it and aren’t insufferable pricks much like yourself.
Too bad your dad didn’t just make your mom swallow so we wouldn’t have to read your stupid shite.

Harshly put...but i agree. And I have to laugh at the irony of a Walmart shopper referring to BR or anywhere else as a shithole.

Raised right?
If they were raised correctly they would understand the principle of "give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish". I volunteer (along with my kids) in one of the poorest areas of our hometown at least 1-2 times per month. That will help SHOW them how to help those less fortunate than you.
I have purposely taught my children to NEVER give out money to beggars or to people hustling for cash/gas money. It teaches them nothing.
Girl scout cookies are a different thing (to me) because I want the cookies and I will pay for them. However, I paid a kid for some candy last month because it was Almond Joy and those are the best. But I am not being guilted into $1 at the cash register or for random items. And no way am I giving a dude cash that is just holding a sign.

Of course, we'd have to have cops that enforce those types of laws, which I don't think is possible considering how many mfers 'block the box' during every light cycle.
Well, we’re already short hundreds of cops in BR, and those on-duty are busy dealing with ghetto bullshite.

Bums are getting much more needy these days around Baton Rouge. I got yelled at a few months ago by a bum by wataburger a few months ago because first I wouldn’t give him money then I wouldn’t give him a ride. Unbelievable

When the girl scouts ask me if I would like to buy cookies I say "yes" and keep walking. I enjoy the confusion it creates.
I’m going to start doing this to the little candy selling fricks.

In NW Arkansas, there'd be church groups selling crosses and other bullshite out front. I would've gone to another store. But I'm pretty sure any halfway decent grocery store is illegal in Arkansas.

Better than the ones standing out on Hwy. 21 with their white buckets knocking on your window wanting you to donate to their chilrens "dance studio" or some shite.
In NOLA, they shake buckets at red lights to raise money for their AAU basketball team.
