On the surface, I understand why people will get all worked up over this. If they just see that a principle made a kid take off a shirt supporting veterans then all the "we losing this country to a bunch of liberals, blah blah", but this is about enforcing rules & if an exception is made for one student then a whole new window is open.

I think the principle is why he kept it on.

That doesnt mean weapons are banned it means weapons can fall under questionable symbols....which means someone has to use a brain and decipher what the objective of the gun is..violence or tribute to those who.died

Spirit of the law vs Letter of the law.

Ridiculous the kid got suspended for that. Ridiculous the school is wasting time on this shite versus doing something that's actually useful.

Nowhere does it say questionable. It says they are prohibited. Is part of being #Murican not being able to read and just making things up when you're angry?

i hear what you are saying, but ambiguous wording is often used in policy as not to paint the organization in a legal corner for potential future litigation.

Kid broke the rules.

I'm more concerned about the parents who probably won't reprimand their child.

Not violate the fricking dress code policy. I think just about every school, if not all of them, has a policy prohibiting wearing shirts that display guns, cigarettes, illegal contraband and the like.

Why the frick is it hard to follow clear and simple rules?

Why is it so hard to follow the constitution?

For the uninformed those are the folks from Tinker. They broke the rules too- only difference is Supreme Court ruled they were right to do so.

Amazing how many people here just assume that every rule is right and enforceable.

Why does not agreeing with a 0 tolerance policy mean merica? Holy frick if a country is involved and you dont agree with what happen you just get merica thrown at you like is a fresh comedic saying. We get it...youre cool...pride in country..lulz.

Who decides whats objectionable? Usually when one is deciding such a thing said items meaning is brought into question...so questionably objective isnt some merica saying.

Let me give your response for you

hmm... this seems like one of those things that if it was some sort of minority getting suspended for breaking a school rule that is very clear people on this site would be howling with anger that they did it on purpose to get attention.
