I tend to believe the accuser's account of things, but I'm not sure why it matters in 2018.

If this is true, I support the guy speaking out about it. A little embarrassment for the bully is a small price for him.

Katy TX was kind of a small town that long ago. I can easily see something like this happening and no real response being made.

It's probably true. It would not be the first time some little middle school dickhead moved on to a position of power.

But why make your first discussion in public at a school meeting? Why not go make an appointment with the man and say hello and address the issue head on?

Maximum revenge and exposure.

Denying the story seems like a strange move from the superintendent if it is, in fact, true. There is really only one way he would lose his job over this and that's a cover up.

My high school assistant principal's last name was Gay, his initials spelled F.A.G.. Talk about shitty parents.

Also had a friend with a stepdad named Jack Goff.

It was all childishly entertaining.

There are many different degrees of bullying. If this Superintendent was actually the guy that pushed his head into the urinal, I would guess that there are other incidents from his past.

If nobody else comes forward, then move on and ignore this accusation. If multiple others start to come forward with similar stories, then go from there.

If that's true, then it's not really about preventing future bullying... more like getting back at the guy. Which, if he wants payback... fair enough... but he specifically said he didn't want that.

I still have a lot of friends that live and work in Katy ISD. Ever since Hindt showed up, he has basically done no wrong. Every single person I know that has interacted with him, has sung his praises. It's like he's the ISD Messiah. Democrats, Republicans, rich, poor, teachers, parents, etc... they all seem to love the guy.

Hindt may fear a reputation hit (or he may be getting advice that tells him to fear it). He may honestly not recall it.

But if it's true... this would be an amazing opportunity for a true teaching moment. However, this is Katy ISD where image trumps all.

Yes! If only for the drama that would follow as this dude squirms from the heat.

If it happened, he should apologize, acknowledge his accuser, reflect a bit on how his actions have left a terrible mark, and then move on.

If he’s not penitent, then let’s rumble!

Sounds like superintendent was pretty bad at being a bully.

Mr. Gay had his head shoved in a urinal?

Can't even give a proper swirly in a urinal.

The "victim" said he "finally" got to face his tormentor publicly. Hindt has been in the public eye for years. No idea why this dude decided to confront Hindt after 35 years. The interview the accuser gave on the news smelled liked total BS.

r/Houston blew the frick up over this. Bascially bunch a betas projecting any sort of past bullying onto Hindt. Even saying hey lets wait and see if there is more to this story before crucifying him brought downvotes and anger.

Now there are supposedly others than can back up Gay's story, but I have yet to see anyone actually interviewed. It was just said in passing on the news and in articles.

Another thing to note. He finally came forward after some other guy was bitching about bullying at a meeting a few weeks ago. This same guy just happened to be there to record after Gay reached out to him. I'm not saying it was some sort of coordinated type thing but...........

Also noteworthy...it is a state law that folks like Hindt can't respond on the spot like that. They just have to let the public talk. The guy chose a really poor place to air his grievance if he wanted an apology. If he wanted an internet mob then he did an excellent job.

Go from there? Go where? Ruin a guy's career for being a prick at the age of 12?

I know lots of people that were pricks at 12 that are awesome people now.

Who gives a shite?

I still hate people who made me miserable in school but I wouldn’t use that as a public platform to wreck their careers

Given the people involved, they are probably doing a good enough job of that without my help.

That insinuates there's gonna be an investigation. And that would be absolutely hilarious for there to be an investigation with tax payer dollars to see if a perfectly fine (I'm assuming) superintendent was a bully when he was like 11-13. It's really funny to imagine a formal committee interviewing grown arse men over what they did as preteens.

Shocker. A lot of Reddit is still filled with people that were nerds in high school so they can relate to getting made fun of.
