Fairhope is currently under a similar water restriction and has been for 10-days or so. It’s stupid. They cited strain on water system and not a lack of water as the reason. Apparently have police and other city utilities employees doing patrols during peak times to monitor.
Every single one of ya'll should be on the mayor's doorstep and at every single city council meeting demanding answers to where the money you pay goes and what it does. There is no drought in Foley, and relatively none in all of Alabama. It sounds like someone at the water department or along the line has dropped the ball. Either way, it is horseshite, third world type stuff.

Totally. Unless they invent some sort of magic device that can tell how many gallons of water you are using. But that would be sorcery.

However, these restrictions have nothing to do with that. They aren't political. They are implementing these measures during a

If Covid taught us one thing it’s that the government can do whatever they want and common sense is optional. They also don’t need to defend anything that contradicts common sense because science.

so, who is going to pay to replace my lawn after it dies from lack of water?

They wouldn't pull this shite in The Woodlands.
Are you new to The Woodlands? They did this 10-12 years ago. Think it was 2011. 2 days a week, no washing cars, and hefty fines for watering landscaping. Had a customer that lived in Carlton Woods that was seeing $5-6000 per month in fines for watering.

HOA will still send you a violation for not having a green, well manicured lawn.

If every goober didnt get up between 5am and 8am and shower and run their irrigation system at the same time, it wouldnt be an issue.
Instead most idiots dont even know how to operate their irrigation system.

Not really sure why some of you are responding critically. This is common everywhere

surely you aren’t suggesting that water restrictions during a drought are the same as the heavy handed, non science based, public restrictions for 2 years during COVID.

next they'll complain when the city wants to spend money to build more ground storage tanks and more water wells. Probably bitch about tearing up the streets to run the well collection lines.

Yeah, I really need to start paying attention to see if there are restrictions. I water daily in The Woodlands. Not a ton, but like 7 minutes per zone I think. I just re-sodded earlier this year. Not trying to have a perfectly lush lawn. Just don't want this shite to die and have to start over. I'm mostly shaded, but the back yard has a large open area. I have been moving a tailgate tent around to give the grass a shade break in the worst spots. Just burns through the grass.
Also, there was a notable lack of water pressure this morning. When it's just my sprinklers, it'll die down when a new zone kicks in, then ramp back to normal quickly. But this was consistent low pressure. I don't like it, but I can see that in itself can be an issue if there's a fire or something.

What in the California is going on over there.
The Greater Houston Area averages around 55 inches of rainfall per year. Usually, by this time of year, they have had around 32 inches of rain. So far they have had a little over 20 inches...so they are around 10 inches (around 31%) below normal for this time of year.

We can’t “water” the lawn but we are allowed to use soaker hoses. That’s what we have installed around the foundation, in all flower beds and down the lawn in strips.

You would think a conservative would actually understand the concept of “conserving” water in a drought. Guess not.

Have they tried not being in a drought? I feel like that would work better than having people conserve water.
