Growing up outside of Lafayette, I had association with one of the accused.
Based on my interactions, the accusation is hard for me to hear. I never had, or heard, anything close to such things about the man.

It won't say which parish, but I knew Fr Pousson growing up. Dude was a raging alcoholic and a pedophile. Hopefully that piece of shite is burning in hell!

My family and my wife's family have been good friends with one of the names on the Houma/Terrebonne list for as long as I can remember and it shocked the hell out of me. None of my or my wife's interactions with the guy would have ever made me think anything was a possibility with him. Hell I still talk to him a few times a year, and I still would not believe it if I had not seen the list myself.

I grew up with a bunch of those priests. Was an altar boy for at least three, was taught by one, a couple are practically family. Not doubting the allegations, but we never heard anything about any of these guys from any of the other kids.

Oh yeah, sorry about the whole stretched butt hole thing.

I recognise some of those names. Heard rumors about one. I guess it was true.

I’ve attended Mass with a few of those in Vermilion Parish.

Some of those guys on the list are dead.
As a Catholic, I invite and encourage these lists being published. Sunlight is the best bleach.

Do any of these priest go to jail ever? Or do they just get moved around to different parishes. #gladtobeprotestant

Will never understand why people keep associating with that institution. The priesthood attracts weirdos who feel guilty about their sexuality and see it as a way to escape and never have to answer any questions like "Meet any nice girls?" or "Want to get married some day?" It's one of the only ways you can engender the trust and support of an entire community despite being a 50 year old dude who has lived alone his whole life.

There’s nothing weird about grown people taking life advice from virgins that take a pledge of celibacy that may or may not have a craving to molest children.

We generalize on this board all the time
The question here is, what attracts these people to the priesthood? Requiring celibacy seems to bring in a lot of perverts

If the Pope wants to be progressive and try to seem like the Church is trying to deter shite like this from happening moving forward, he needs to allow priests to marry.
