When does counter trial begin?
Posted on 12/10/25 at 12:46 pm to winkchance
Officially Nov 25. I think the motion to dismiss will be heard but no specific court date that I've heard.
I'm sure it'll get going after Christmas & 1st of the year sometime.

The sidebar transcripts are being released. I have zero experience with this but it seems like the judge was doing more than what a judge normally does during a trial.
She seems to sometimes be telling the prosecution what to do and if the prosecutor doesn't agree she will enforce things anyway.
Would like to hear actual lawyer's opinions that have seen the sidebar transcripts.

There was some conversation about the judge in this thread. May have been discussed.
The Lifetime movie comes out Saturday

Last I heard, he wasn't running for re-election because the community hates him.

just fighting in the Civil Cases right now.
Proctor got his phone back and immediately accidentally "lost" it. While the Commonwealth doesn't want to return Karen Read's phones to her, and they are filing motions to maintain possession of the phones.

Pretty surprised AJ hasn't obliterated them for the phone issue yet.

Is AJ really working on any of this anymore? Pretty sure he has moved on to other cases.

He has moved on but still works with her in some capacity - plus, this is part of "his" case I reckon. I watched a lot of his interviews post-trial and he's echoed the same.

Have been loosely following the civil part of this bc I’m interested in what happens if anything to the mcalberts etc.
I will say it’s such a cluster and I almost feel for the judge who has to preside over it. John’s family is suing Karen and like three bars. There is so much information coming into and out of the case, trying to deduce what’s considered redundant, admissible etc. Karen has also brought accusations against the McAlberts and Proctor. To be honest i have lost interest.

He is/was representing a young kid in Cali who was speeding and perhaps may have been drinking and killed another driver. Not sure if that case went to trial yet.

I don't think that case has gone to trial, but Alan Jackson dropped off that case earlier this year.

The house of cards may be starting to fall. There is a guy named Jim Sullivan that is speaking out. He was at one of the bars. He was on surveillance talking with John O’Keefe and Karen Read for an hour the night o’Keefe died.
After meeting with Micheal Proctor. Proctor wrote a report that claimed Sullivan told Proctor that Karen Read was “toasted”.
ADA Adam Lally said that the jury would hear from Jim Sullivan during the trial. Lally meet with Sullivan the day after the opening statement for the first time. When they got to Proctors report Sullivan informed both prosecutors (Lally and Mclaurin) and Tully that he never told Proctor that he said Karen Read was “Toasted”.
Sullivan was never called in either trial and Lally never informed Karen Reads lawyers about his meeting with Sullivan.

I’ve been following sporadically and I gotta say, those text messages between proctor and the other guys are morally repugnant. And not just about KR but other people as well. It really speaks to the whole systemic culture that not only did they feel comfortable talking like that but to write it and not think anything of it.

Not knowing any details, but can't the lens be broken, yet the light still work?

Proctor is an actual racist, misogynist, antisemite cop and you would think the national media would be all over this case.
