What does LSU have against parking garages? The parking in/around campus is the worst I have ever seen.

They are expensive to build. The garage by Barnes and Noble is woefully underutilized because it is expensive to park there compared to parking on the street.
Their revenue projections were comically high in retrospect
LSU Parking is losing a lot of money paying off the debt for that building.

I like how they cite an architectural survey that found LSU has 330 current classrooms but only needs 229 to serve their needs yet the Master Plan is rife with brand new "Academic Buildings"
