Just studied the LSU master plan. It's exciting.

Kirby Smith, gone.

Middleton, gone.

Physical plant area between stadium and PFT, gone (to make way for a new "south quad").

New library.

New modern dorms replacing the whole McVoy, Herget Miller area.

And this one might be controversial -- notice the loss of parking spaces in the stadium and CEBA lots for the addition of trees ("canopy cover") and general landscaping.

I like it. This is a vision I can generally get behind. Time to waddle into the 21st century.

Does the plan include digging out the poo-poo pond behind Miller?

It's certainly a bold vision. I just wonder if the leadership will receive the support they require to pull this off.

Timeframe

Mark Emmert talked about moat of this stuff over 15 years ago and not a whole lot has been done. 45-90 years seems like a good timetable.

I'll be sure to bark and spit on every single one while I'm there.

Be sure to avoid the port-o-lets, then.

In case they haven't noticed, we have had parking issues at LSU since well... forever. Removing parking lots IS NOT the way to fix that short of satellite parking lots with some kind of automated tram system. I think it is pretty well established that LSU and/or Baton Rouge can't operate an effective bus system to accomplish this.

Digging a little into the website, the Greek houses are still there, and there's even a proposal for new ones, so that was apparently a red herring.

Same places they’ve always been sold: Weinersnitzel on the north side, Sonic on the south.
