Aside from being heckled by Eagles fans, I'm looking for things to do up here. Definitely seems to be much more exciting than McAllen and Midland TX. Bit of a bar and restaurant fiend, so any recommendations on what to do up here would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Haven't lived there in 15+ years.. but last time I was there I enjoyed grabbing a sandwhich from Tony Luke's on Oregon Avenue.

If you want bar food chickie and pete's is pretty popular with the local crowd. I've never been there and probably will never go but I know it is popular.

I heard some guy was treated like shite up here back in the 1800s, sarcastically said this, and they were dumb enough to think he was being serious and took it as their city motto.

Philly is great, since you just got in town, I would start with the Museum of Art. Run up and pretend to be rocky, even though they moved the damn statue.

Then take a week to actually enjoy the museum. If I remember right there is a wine and cheese social first friday of the month you can go to to meet other cultured people.

Then go take in a concert with the Philly Orchestra when they play at the Academy and just enjoy the awesome.

There are also several great jazz and blues clubs near center city that are a blast.

Manayunk and Conshohocken have a shite ton of single recent college grad women. Just have the southern accent ready and you'll be gold.

Gettysburg is well worth the trip.

Don;t go to Gino's and Pat's.

Eastern State pen is creepy as frick

Stay out of North Philly

There's so many bars and restaurants that are locally owned, most of them are pretty good.

What part are you in?

Go find an Amish deli outside of the city, put your balls on the liberty bell, do heroin, eat a cheesesteak

Pretty much all Philly offers

Philly is such an authentic town. You can authentically get robbed at gunpoint, eat a greasy and nasty Philly Cheese steak that locals claim is authentic, get robbed again by an authentically coked up tranny, and marvel at the angry, trashy authentic locals while you deal with indigestion.

Honestly, for most authentically miserable experience, I prefer Baltimore....but Philly is a close second.

Really a bit north in Willow's Grove, but I'm near the train station to where I can get to Philly quickly.
