Surgery was a breeze, but when they say you can’t rub your eye for 2 weeks…they’re kidding, right?
Might as well submit me to Chinese water torture.

The month of eyedrops were a pain in the arse to me, but worth it.
Me to Dr before my surgery: "I probably shouldn't be driving at night."
Dr: "you shouldn't be driving at all."
I have an extreme phobia of needles and medical care in general. My BP was through the roof the first time and the sedation wore off in the middle of it and they had to dose me again. The second time they gave me a Valium to take at home before I went to the hospital.

Generally, its not a good idea to rub your eyes

Why do women rub their eyes when they wake up in the morning?
Because they don't have any balls to scratch.

Had it done two years ago. One of the best things I ever did. Had very bad near sighted vision. My vision was so bad the did one eye on a Tuesday and the other eye Thursday. They said I wouldn’t be able to handle the normal two weeks between eyes because of the disparity.
Now I have 20/20 vision. I got the lenses that give you perfect vision except for things real close. So I do use readers when reading. I can see okay without them…good enough reading emails or things on my phone. But the readers help. The only issue is this lens gives lights a halo effect. All lights. The little pin light showing my Apple TV box is on has halos. The first time I got on the interstate at night during rush hour was a little insane. Every brake light, street light, headlight was like an acid trip. You do get used to that over a few months to where your brain just ignores it.
The rubbing eyes was hard. I’m real bad about that. For the first year I was scared I would forget and ruin my eye. But never any issues and today I rub them like I always did (that’s what she said). I went in looking to talk about lasik because my vision had gotten worse and they found my biggest issue…bad cataracts at 49 years old. I was paranoid about needles in my eye but it was fine and well worth it.

LOL just got back from taking my mom to have her second eye done. She keeps wanting to take the shield off.

My dad just had it done as well. Said the surgery was easy.
But they did one eye at each of two different appointments.

I just had the left eye done. Blurriness seemed to set in literally overnight and waiting 6 weeks for the first available surgery date was rough. They said I have a cataract in my right eye as well, but my vision seems fine in that one aside from needing reading glasses.
But after getting the surgery done yesterday in the left eye, I can already tell that with my right eye everything looks a tad darker with a slight yellowish tint. Will probably get that one done in a few months.

I had it done last year; they did “drop-less” surgery & I was relieved I didn’t have to use eyedrops post-surgery. I slept in the recliner with the old people goggles so I didn’t scratch. It was amazing how vivid colors are after you heal.
