Got lit up for doing 41 in a 30.

Ticket is $194.

That seems awfully excessive. I’m pretty sure my last fine was around $30 for pretty much the exact same thing.

What is the fine for this in your area?

I got a ticket for not coming to a full stop at a stop sign in my neighborhood. I did everything but rock back. That was $150.

I told my wife about and which stop sign it was. She got one the next day at the same stop sign

I got pulled over an hour ago for speeding. Thankfully the cop hooked me up with a seatbelt ticket instead.

Similar shite happened to me a month and some change ago, first in 10+ years. Luckily it's Louisiana and they only care about the money, so you just go talk to the DA, they reduce the overall price and keep it off your driving record. Since you're settling it early, they keep all the money and not share it between departments, so that's why they agree to do it for reduced amount because they still get their share. Seems like it should be illegal and probably is...idk, but at least my insurance won't get fricked.

Got a ticket a couple months ago after I blasted through a red light at 4 am

That price sounds about right

No tickets in forever then pulled over for going 70 in a construction zone (50 mph). Then a week later pulled over using a cell phone in a school zone. Both were given as warnings. I am now obedient and living right on the road. School zone would've been north of $300.

Couple weeks ago I rolled through stop sign, trooper sitting off to side.I didn’t see him until too late. Not to worry,he had his head down apparently studying his smartphone.

Did he write on the ticket "Pulled over for speeding"?

A cop did me that on La. 1 in one of those little Podunk towns along it several years ago. He gave me a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt instead of speeding.

Long story short, my next auto insurance renewal found me being hit up for $40 more a month for the same policy. When I called to see what it was about, they said I had been stopped for speeding. When I said I got a ticket for no seatbelt, they said, "Doesn't matter, the ticket said "Stopped for speeding" and we're basing your insurance rate on that.

It was time to find another insurer after that phone call.

The “fine” is something like $25.

All the costs are the bullshite fees hung off of tickets that measure up to about 6x the cost of the actual fine.

50 in a 35 will get you about $180 in St. John Parish according to a friend.
