Have you tried unplugging your toaster when not using it?

Tell the PSC to support 1:1 Net Metering and go Solar. You guys act like these bills won’t continue.

It’s hurricane season and Louisiana has a shitty & outdated grid. The utilities are going to continue to charge you through the nose and will justify it with fuel costs, etc…

Go Solar

Not being a dick when I say this, but doesn't it take something like 20 years to recoup the costs on solar panels? What's the selling point for it?

They don’t make money on fuel costs.

Do you have a 5,000 sqft house? I don’t see how a bill like that is possible

I was $848 for June 15th to July 15th, NG gas is killing us.

Good news is projected to be under $700 this month :banghead:

I had $400 BREMCO bills in the 80's, less than 2,000 sq ft. Coops buy the juice from someone else and upcharge.

THIS is the biggest reason for higher costs and lower reliability

Net metering is 1:1 for everything you use.

Why should a power company be forced to buy something they didn't ask for?

Don’t worry. In the ‘inflation reduction act’ there are additional taxes on NG, so it will only continue

Mine has gone up, so I will post a few months worth.

Mar. 18 $106.50

April 19 $117.46

May 18 $126.22

June 16 $155.25

Jul 19 $181.25

This is with 2 rate increases in the last quarter, and a 3rd one scheduled for 9-1. They also added $40 for fuel adjustment for each customer.

ETA: What did this post contain that made the downvote queers bunch up their ginch, and cry? Poor little bitches.

Almost a decade ago a guy pitched me on solar and the entire pitch was: “With tax breaks and credits the cost only comes out to $6,500”

The real cost was around $25,000.

Now if energy bills keep approaching $500 per month there could be a decent pay off for $25,000 as it would only take 4+ years, but if energy bills and fuel charges return to normalcy, solar panels simply aren’t economical without government subsidies for the average person.

Mine was $599. It's usually in the $300's during the summer.
