Mine was $486 for a 3000 sf two story house in central MS. Two units and a mini split for upstairs.

Why should a power company be forced to buy something they didn't ask for?

Because they force err'one to buy their product? Do you live somewhere where the top 8 electric companies clearly post their rates and fees, then you choose which one you want?

Ours hasn’t increased with coast epa. Last bill was $260 for around 2600 KWh usage. 2900 sq ft total electric. My family down in Houma getting hammered by entergy. Fuel surcharges are roughly half the bill. Most everyone I talked to looking at near double what their bill should be

Do you have a 5,000 sqft house? I don’t see how a bill like that is possible

i do. and my summer months are already higher than most people cause my mother in law is home all day with my 3 kids. so the AC for her suite stays lower than during school. kids in and out, a pool etc and that shite adds up. Brand new house with spray foam, best windows etc. it happens.

Not being a dick when I say this, but doesn't it take something like 20 years to recoup the costs on solar panels? What's the selling point for it?
I was thinking about Solar also but looking into it , not worth the cost at this time

Most solar systems you see on houses are just feedback and lower your bill. The last month with all of the rain and clouds you would be lucky to get 15% efficiency.

God damn.

I'm over here sweating my $130 utility bill.

I don't know what I'd do if I got a bill that high. I'd obviously pay it, but I'd be frantic trying to find ways to not let that happen again.

My mom's bill was over $700 last month. Friend in Pineville was over $550.

Last month mine was $501. I used less electricity than I did for last year's July bill and my bill was almost double this year.

I’d cut my power off if my bill was that high.

Mine was $480, which is by far the highest it has ever been

several in my neighborhood posted bills in the $1000-$1200 range

my neighborhood is mostly 100 year old homes, so a lot have zero insulation and single pane windows still

I'm one of the few that had upgraded windows and insulation in the attic and underneath

I get shocked at my Cleco bill each month, then I see threads like this and feel like I'm doing pretty good with a $350 bill in a 3100sq ft 17 yr old house

Includes elec, gas, water, sewage and sanitation.
