Southern District of Texas is still holding out last I checked, won’t last long.

Sounds like you work for someone with common sense. Good for you
If everyone can work remotely but he is still having them come into the office he has zero common sense. This would apply even if there was no CV outbreak. Making people come into the office who don't actually need to be there to work just so you can see them is a massive waste.

Wannabe hardass bosses like that are terrible for business. I guarantee he just inspired a bunch of your company's employees to question his leadership and start thinking about getting other jobs.

I hope anyone who sues someone for getting sick dies a horrible death. So fricking stupid. I can't even think straight when I consider it.

You better specify the virus, otherwise I'm going to assume you're the huge bitch that goes to the emergency room for a common cold.

I agree with taking this seriously but at this point do y'all want everything shut down?
And the OP isn't even making sense since he says that they already have telecommuting abilities that they use. I have a feeling a lot of fish are being reeled in with this thread.

We telecommute if say someone has to stay home with kids/has an appointment/handyman coming over/etc... Usually not all stacked up at once. But I feel like we could be perfectly productive for a few weeks just fine.

Only time I went to the ER was with a kidney stone. But I'm sure you're man enough to pass a dozen of them unphased.

I have some good news. Most schools will be shut down within the week so there's your green light right there.

I would never work for a company with butt in seat mentality.
Hire people you can trust that get shite done.
Those dinosaurs will be gone soon enough.

would go to law school and pass the bar just to be able to take this case for free.
Would never go to court. They will settle because what business wants to publicize they made employees stay, especially with that damning email and someone grandma died because the office got sick.

That's dumb.
I told my team they could work from home if they want...80% still showed up.

I have a local boss who does NOT have that type of attitude and is staunchly opposed to it. I wouldn't be surprised if he came in and told us all to work from home as we see fit for the next few weeks.

We got some good mixed signals this morning from area leadership.
“Some of you with laptops we ask that you work from home if possible”
“We need to make sure that we’re continuing to monitor and run our business as usual though”
It reminded me of “voluntary workouts.”
Basically we’re telling you to work from home if you have a laptop and you’re a pussy, but your arse is expected to be at work
