Coach O wasn't retained by the fricktards in Cali. It worked out for him. Hopefully it works out as well for you. Good luck.

Did you forget the TPS cover sheet again, uhhhmmm ok, , we're going to need you to clear our your desk, mmmmkayyy?!

Sorry, trying to make you laugh.

I've had it happen several times. Each time came out better for me. Didn't seem like it, but it did. Best of luck and prayers for you. My advice, go do a couple of things you always wanted to do.

Especially in Cali. Businesses are leaving in droves.

I had several friends from LSU,Tech, and TAMU who all moved out to San Jose area in 1999-2001. All starting out at 6 figures in engineering.

All now residing outside of CA.

Get out of that shithole. LA shouldn't be your destination. But frick living out in that state.

Exactly, treat it like a sabbatical.
Assuming you get some sort of severance package. There are wonderful things to do out here that are a problem due to the overwhelming number of people trying to do them on the weekends. Now you have the weekdays and no crowds and cheaper prices. Eat a lot of late lunches, etc. As you well know, companies here can not find enough local people to fill their spots and relocation costs are going up. You are already more competitive than most just by your location. Hardest thing is getting out here, but once you are here, you will always be able to find a job. Good luck!

Ask yourself these 3 simple questions.

1) Have you ever really been hungry.
2) Have you ever not had a roof over your head?
3) Have you ever lost faith that it was going to be ok?

When one door closes another door opens. I got laid off and it lead to the best job I ever had!

Fortunately, they're giving us some time before we're let go. I've been here 15 years, so it sucks having to start over somewhere else, but that's life. Especially in Cali. Businesses are leaving in droves.
