I was on a commercial flight with Kurt Russell once. It's more common than people think.

Fandango is obscure but he does a great job with his part.

Costner asked me for some water at the restaurant I was managing in the quarter (JFK) it was 530am in the morning and we weren’t open yet, I gave him a glass of water and since it was not disposable ( didn’t occur to me to give him a to go cup) he had to stand there and talk to me while he drank it. He was very personable, asked me a lot of questions about working in the quarter etc. nice guy.

I saw Costner at a grocery store in Jackson, Mississippi yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off.

Edit: Obvious sarcasm.

Different experience from the early 90’s. He was at a game at the Box. Not sure if a regular season game or a regional. Total a-hole. Had 2 bodyguards with him. Friend and I were about 10 years old. Tried to approach him and he said “don’t bother me”. He was pissed when they announced his presence too.

ETA: actually I have no ill will about it whatsoever. He hurt our feelings at the time but we still laugh about it. Same friend’s dad had a similar experience meeting Mickey Mantle back in the 60’s. Almost a rite of passage for kids to get rejected by their idols/heroes

I met him at a restaurant in Shreveport while he was filming the guardian. He was a really nice dude.

Have heard nothing but good things about him when he did a few films in Shreveport... but I don’t care, still one of my favorite actors. If I saw him, wouldn’t say a word to him because I don’t care if someone is a “celebrity”. And I hate talking to strangers on planes too

apparently, he's a fricking champ... quite literally...

Holly Sampson, the pornstar that Tiger Woods was banging out back in the day, did an interview and she was asked who was the most impressive celebrity, sexually, she's ever been with, and she didn't even hesitate... said you could line 10 girls up, and he'd bang out each one of them, to completion, like it was nothing.... props to ol' Kev.... quite the swordsman, evidently...

When he was filming the Highwaymen a lot of people from the area got to spend some time with him. They all said he was a great guy.

guy I work with has a summer cabin near Ogden, Utah

he said they film a bunch of yellowstone there
Rip’s cabin is next to his cabin
the Dutton office they blew up is in downtown Ogden
the Dutton ranch with the big D on the barn is up the road from him
they have shot remotes on his property, the summer camp scenes by the river, the scene when the grandson falls into the water

he said costner is beyond cool, the entire cast and production team are all super nice and professional. they block his road pretty regularly for shooting. they gave him and his wife gifts, a bunch of show swag etc

he said costner is one of the most genuinely nice people he has ever met, he said dude loves to talk

he has hung out with Luke Grimes, Josh Holloway and Cole Hauser a bunch, been fishing on the river numerous times with them. he routinely guides them

he said that utah eliminated most of their state filmimg credits so they suspect the show will move a lot of its exterior productions to other locations
