Correct. Which back in the day you could tell which families were wealthy in China by how tall they were.

What was killing Americans back when the life expectancy was 51 years?

Disease and other natural causes because we had less medical care and life was generally tougher then

This headline is wrong. The study shows 12% of Americans eat 50% of the beef eaten in America on any given day.

45% of people don't eat beef at all per day, so of the remaining 55%, ~25% eat half and ~75% eat the other half. I'm thinking that means the 12% had a 12+ ounce steak or a big brisket or beef ribs, while the rest (that consumed) had 1 small burger or a beef burrito or something with about a third of the actual beef of a steak.

Obviously the 12% we are talking about and the 45% non beef eaters changes by day. Some nights I'll have pork or chicken and have no beef at all. Other nights ill have a huge steak and be in the 12%

With respect to red meat, discredited studies.

As you can see they included “processed meats” in with red meat. I’m sure that skews the numbers.

We should all eat 1-2 pounds daily plus 4-6 eggs

As long as the source is of great quality

I’ve lost 30 lbs since that picture was taken FTR by cutting out sugar, only drinking alcohol once a week and working out some. But I was an OT/DL in college so I’ll never be a small guy, I weighed 260 when I had abs and was in top football shape. My body burns over 3k calories a day when at rest, so I’ll always have to eat a lot more than an average person does calorie wise and it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m gaining weight from it

There’s nothing wrong with salt.

How old are you?

The human body needs some salt and this is usually covered in the food you eat. What I am talking about is modern practice where fast food and processed food have WAY more than you need and it causes harm. Between 35 and 55 you can get by and your body will process it out as you still have higher metabolism. After that you slow dawn (natural part of aging) and salt is an issue with your heart.

Also, if you have any Scottish blood in your veins they are genetically predisposed to Mineres Disease which has no cure and gets worse with old age. Think of your worst bender, where you had to put 1 foot on the floor to keep the room from spinning and if you moved your head at all even an inch you wanted to projectile vomit like never before. if you know that feeling from life experiences, now multiply that by a factor of 10 and you will know what an attack is like. The only fix is to modify your salt intake so you can get a handle on an attack and lessen or eliminate it.

Have you ever been in training?

When younger I consumed 6K to 8K calories a day and still could not put on weight. A lot has to do with your metabolism and it is highest when you are young. It slows down as you age ant at my current age I can just look at 500 calories and put on weight because at this point mine is close to a dead stop.

If you are training consult your trainer or team doctor.

If not, spend some time with your personal doc just prior to your next physical and have them advise you and test for your personal numbers.

Beef is one of the healthiest things one can consume. I'm doing my part.

I rank animal based nutrition

from best to least:

oysters
oily fish (salmon)
other shellfish
catfish
all other fish
Chicken/poultry
Pork
beef

and all are beneficial nutrient wise

Rabbit is somewhere on that list and a smart cultivation but rarely eaten
