This incident may make sure no one see hot nuggets at a McDonald's ever again.
Remember how good those fries used to be before the lawsuits?

Why is McDonald's responsible for this and not the mother?

I remember getting a fish sandwich back in the early 90’s and brought it home and took one bite and it had a huge fish bone in it.

In May, a separate jury determined that the two companies were liable for failing to provide reasonable instructions or warnings — on the packaging, for example — about the risks of injuries that could result from a Chicken McNuggets meal, which comes with pieces of white chicken meat.
In August 2019, Ms. Holmes ordered a six-piece Chicken McNuggets Happy Meal for Olivia at a McDonald’s drive-through in Tamarac, a city northwest of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. After she handed the nuggets to her daughter in the back seat, one piece fell on Olivia’s lap, leaving her thigh “disfigured and scarred,” according to the initial lawsuit.
How did the world get by for so long not knowing fried food could be very hot at times or figure that out while handling food ourselves when giving it to someone else???
The box would have been extremely hot and noticeable to the mom while handing it to the kid, what parent doesn’t check nuggets at that point before handing it to a 4 year old (or always), and How does a mom let their 4 year old get burned for 2 minutes???

Holmes had ordered a six-piece Chicken McNuggets Happy Meal from the drive-thru and handed the box to Olivia in the backseat.
The girl dropped one of the red-hot nuggets onto her lap and it got wedged between her car seat and leg for roughly two minutes
… The family said the nugget was 200 degrees, while McDonald’s said it was 160 degrees
I guess mom only took temp of the nugget after it burned her kid for 2 minutes instead of before giving it to her.
Some of the ridiculous awards lately appear to be from jury & judges thinking some are less capable of personal responsibility than others.

I just can’t see
A McNugget causing that.
A McNugget causing that.

It always amuses me how the original McD coffee lawsuit was criticized and laughed about.
That woman was burned and she went through hell.

And it was so hot and burning her so badly that she didn’t notice, or complain, or scream in agony?

The mom is the one that served her kid the hot food, not McDonalds.
I dont think you should be served food hot enough to give you 2nd degree burns.
I dont think that’s an unfair standard of care. most people expect if they’re handed something it won’t melt their flesh.
I inagine the number here will come down in appeal but idk what Florida punitive laws are like.

but they are no more dangerous than any other fried food product, which is to say, not dangerous.
i’ve eaten lots of fried good that didn’t give me 2nd degree burns and that’s not because it didn’t fall in my lap. it’s because it wasn’t way too hot to touch. which is ideally the food restaurants should be serving people.

Hot Pockets, you are now on the clock.

If she can get $800k for this, does anybody have any other ideas for a lawsuit I can bring? I will even spill hot tea or coffee on my penis and claim it was an accident for this kind of money.

I bet the shitty mother spends all the money before the girl turns 18.

The mom wasn’t listening to her daughter’s voice, but she is thankful the jury listened to her daughter’s voice.

I’m just sitting here like “She got a hot McNugget? Why can’t I get hot McNuggets?”

I’ve lost count of how many times pizza rolls have burned every taste bud on my tongue
Posted on 7/21/23 at 4:49 pm to Fun Bunch
They burned that poor ladies genitals together. And we all blamed her. I’m sure not gonna cast judgement on this case.

Well by all means keep away from wood fired pizza restaurants, and Ruth's Chris with their 500 degree plates, and Mexican restaurants with their fajitas, as someone mentioned earlier.
Does no one have any personal responsibility for their kids anymore? Especially one who is known to their parents, (but not McDonalds) to be non verbal autistic?
I guarantee I always checked the food for being too hot (among other things) before giving it to my kids when were that young. Good parents do that.
Would that same type of mother take her kid to the pool, and let her get in without watching the child, while she's looking at Tik Tok videos? It wouldn't surprise me at all.
And I don't buy that burn from a chicken nugget. Something stinks.
