I was just a young lad, but I vaguely remember celebrating America’s 200th birthday in 1976, all the fireworks, parades, USA flags everywhere and the Bicentennial quarter

As we are approaching America’s 250th birthday, do you think there will be more celebrations (it is on a Saturday) and will we have a Semiquincentennial quarter?

My prediction: we will see the war in Iran end before July 4th, stock markets will explode, gas prices will drop and Americans will come together (even just for a short time) to celebrate this great day of Independence!

We either come together or surely we will come separately.

Nobody really cares about the 250th anniversary even half as much as people cared about the 200th anniversary.

The 200th anniversary seems to have been an actual big deal from what I've heard about it.

But nobody really seems to care about the 250th anniversary, despite how the media is trying to get us to care about it.

Maybe the 300th anniversary will be a bigger deal since that ends in two zeroes.

I was too young to remember anything other than that quarter, actually disappointed they didn't bring it back this year.

Not when some people view Juneteenth more important than July 4th.

Declaration and formation aren't the same. It's technically the "Suck my dick, Redcoats!" day.

I'm just disappointed Trump's planned quarter-quell fell through.

It's always "but black people". Goodness! Are you that preoccupied with race?

With Trump as President, more will be hating than celebrating this country.

That's where we are as a society.

The country is on fire going down the tubes and everybody seems to hate each other. I don’t see much in the way of celebrating unfortunately

Rabble rousers have been given outsized voices due to social media and access.

Halfwits can post their ignorant opions on forums like this, and people accept it as fact.

Dont fall for it

People are still dying to get here.
