Judge OKs awards up to $1000 each for Baton Rouge protesters

The issue was the fact that BRPD made a bunch of arrest on multiple days in multiple locations and used the same arrest report with the same date and time on all of them...

Actually these are people who were arrested for walking on the sidewalk, in people's yards or on streets which were closed at the time. A couple of the arrested were reporters who were covering the protests. Simply protesting something which is a public issue is not illegal. This is a pretty cheap settlement for false arrests.

The cop sued "Black Lives Matter," which isn't an incorporated or organized entity. And he had no idea who threw the brick. He was basically suing the wind.

Let's be clear on one thing.
I fricking hate that they are getting paid BUT...
The BRPD fricking screwed the goat on this and, no matter how much it sticks in my craw, they did violate those shite heads rights. No ifs, ands or buts and in our country even the biggest scum bag gets his rights protected.
A legal arrest must be supported by specific articulable facts demonstrating Probable Cause. There was multiple ways they could have handled the mass arrests and done the paperwork properly, they chose the Easy Button and it bit them in the arse.
They photocopied the Probable Cause sheets and just filled in the blanks. That just isn't how a sworn document works folks. They should have known better and they never should have done it that way. FWIW, they basically do this for every DWI arrest as well and that shite isn't right either.
