OR we could do something really crazy like stop funneling money into the university system and falsely jacking up the cost of education so more normal people could afford college without the government subsidy

If a recruit has an LSU scholarship offer and he goes out of state. The recruits momma must pay back all monies that she received from state programs for her family.

Certainly won’t argue that. It essentially is a handout program to those like me who left the state. Luckily for the State my wife had out of state tuition so it evens out in our case.

I started applying for jobs my last year at lsu. I spent 9 months applying to over 100 jobs and only got 5 interviews with no offers. I applied to Texas opportunities and was hired 30 days later.

I have kids who would greatly benefit from TOPS and I think it needs major overhaul. I do not think taxpayers should pay for my kids college education.
The biggest change is it needs to be a loan forgiven upon graduation.
Also there needs to be some benefit/priority given to students who stay in state or penalty to students who leave. Such as half loan is due if you leave state.
Third it truly needs to be a merit system. Not everyone needs to go to college.
Last, we need to reduce the number of colleges in LA and send some people to trade school.

Pretty sure LSU in state tuition definitely does not equal that amount. And if you’re talking about Tulane, no one made you go to an expensive private school that literally teaches you the same things that LSU would. It’s called getting loans and paying them back later. Go cry a river, people like you are a drain on society

Per LSU's website it costs a little over $20,000 per year. That's before you spend a cent on anything else so I think my 40-50k estimate is reasonable since using your logic the student will be paying their own cell phone, car insurance, ect. And don't even give me some shite about not needing a cell phone yada yada yada.

We are talking strictly tuition expenses as this is a conversation about TOPS and TOPS only pays for tuition. It’s $20k a year. If you’re too stupid for merit scholarships, get a federal loan and Pell grants to pay for it. The end.
