Does JPSO wear body cams? If so, should be real clear if the cops are telling the truth or not.

If they are, well, then I think the cops did what they had to do to protect themselves. You can't pull a gun on an officer.

But if any part of this story turns out to be not true, such as body cam footage shows something different, or someone else has footage they took, this is going to be bad.

Starting to worry for police officers. Last time a series of events came out like this, you had people murdering police officers (Dallas & Baton Rouge). Hopefully this isn’t a round two of that.

Well, that's not going to help calm this down.

There's a huge difference in what happened in Minnesota and

a deputy approached Reyes to handcuff him, and Reyes turned and pointed a gun at the deputy, who fired several shots and shot Reyes dead.

Yes. But you can't forget the intelligence of the people calling for protests. Whatever their intelligence level, they let emotions dictate over logic.

Clearly, this guy knew nothing about finding and using a defensible position. Your adversary had the drop on you, he was wearing a bullet proof best, you had no cover, you were facing away from him, and you still pulled a gun.

Well that makes for an interesting conspiracy theory.

Hey, frick you. Predicted. Just wait until later tonight:

“New Orleans is joining cities across the United States to fight back against police murder, the carceral state, and all racism.

We're protesting in anger over George Floyd’s murder, in solidarity with the 20,000 courageous Minneapolis demonstrators, and in a fight back against US prisons' genocidal neglect of Black, Indigenous, and Latinx peoples.

We're crying out against the transphobic murder of Tony McDade in Tallahasee, as well as Kansas City’s slap-on-the-wrist response to the police assault of Breona Hill.

We're speaking out against this week's killing of an anonymous man by a Jefferson Parish deputy.

We're rallying in memory and continued struggle for Ahmaud Arbery, Philando Castile, Michael Brown, and all who have been murdered by killer cops.

We're fighting under leadership of the National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression.”

Common Denominator in all of these cases.

Do what the police say, or ask and your arse will live.

The black man doesn’t see guns.

All the cop had to do was listen to the man and get back in his unit and move on
