Let the “protests” begin:
LINK
The man, who family at the scene identified as 35-year-old Modesto Reyes, had trouble making a turn in his truck, got out and fled on foot. JPSO deputies followed him as he ran eastbound on Salome then as he turned south on Eiseman Avenue where he tripped and fell.
According to Lopinto, a deputy approached Reyes to handcuff him, and Reyes turned and pointed a gun at the deputy, who fired several shots and shot Reyes dead.
“He’s not a violent person,” Turner said of her brother, who worked in construction and was a local musician. “He’s made mistakes, but no one deserves to go like this.”
At 1 a.m. JPSO deputies pulled the immediate family to the side to speak with them. Several people brought out their phones to record conversations between the police and family. One woman called out for protests.
“Everything keeps going on with our black people,” someone cried out. “This just happened in Minnesota.”

There's a huge difference in what happened in Minnesota and

Read the bottom line. I’m only referring to what the family is attempting to correlate.

Reyes turned and pointed a gun at the deputy
I wonder if she would have made the same statement if Reyes would have pulled the trigger first?

Does Alton Sterling and Michael Brown count?
I mean they were shot before they could actually get the gun out but they were giving it the old college try.

You’re right. You could start by not pulling a gun on a cop.

I don't know what is more ridiculous, the unknown woman who made the comment, Katelyn Umholtz for reporting it, or you deciding to lead with "Let the "protests begin"

Such a non violent person. Probably on his way to church and working on his GED to become a nuclear physicist.

If you point a gun at someone and that someone is also armed, it simply becomes race to see who gets shot first.

Whether he pointed the gun or just had the gun in his hand, the difference between life and death for an officer is less than a second. If the guy had a gun like that, there will be no protests unless the police shot him more than 10 times and then dragged him around town.
