That's a steep decline after just 5 episodes.

Former "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart’s woke new series "The Problem with Jon Stewart" has been dubbed a flop, according to new reports.
Stewart’s Apple TV+ show, which debuted in September, averaged only about 180,000 U.S. homes within the first week. By the fifth episode in March, viewership went down 78% to only 40,000 U.S. homes within seven days, according to Bloomberg.

Everything woke turns to shite

This is really surprising considering there aren't many shows hosted by smug left-wing comedians pontificating about how much America sucks.

Even if you agree who wants to sit and watch someone be depressing on tv?

I'm shocked that it launched back in September. While I knew it was in the works I had no idea it was already airing until that episode with the white guy that was ambushed my a bunch of self hating whites was making the rounds, in April!
The slightly left leaning audience that used to enjoy his show no longer exists. The middle ground is gone, which is why he resorted to hard left pandering in his newest episode.

You ever seen the popular show "A Million Little Things"? I haven't. But, I have seen the previews, and in every single one of them someone is crying. Talk about miserable.

Yeah. He found a niche where no other competitors exist clearly.

I love how people on the right thought JS was some middle of the road common sense guy because he gently pushed back a little on some insane left wing issues.
I think he's fooled a lot of people until a week or two ago. He went off on how white people are the devil and the left of center guest (IIRC) began to push back on the premise whereby JS immediately turned to the angry fat liberal white lady and let her off the leash to start the typical talking point barage. She said white people don't want to talk about it then, not even 30 seconds later, she said she doesn't want to talk about the issue with a white male.

While he is undoubtedly very left leaning, I'd imagine even the insane progs aren't tuning in because he dared question Colbert on the insanity of Covid reactions and the lab leak theory that one time. So of course they turned their backs on him.
Jon is more in the vein of classic liberals who value free speech, but he's also not pulling in conservatives. So pretty much no one is gonna watch him now. You hate to see it.

I'm actually looking forward to the Fraiser reboot. The original actually made fun of high strung urban progressives. There's nothing like that right now; and that's probably one of the reasons Kelsey Grammar thinks a reboot would be successful.

Oprah and Obama would probably disagree.

he gained a few points with his theatrical 9/11 responder rant to Congress, and he seemed to be a strong covid-tyranny critic for a while, but his true colors have come out in the end.
He and others like him are now saying the things they've always wanted to say, but didn't think they could get away with until now. It will continue until cost is extracted from them.

Jon over-estimated how much his core audience, middle-aged white men, wanted to be harangued about how racist they are.

He is, and always has been, a typical run-of-the-mill NYC lefty. He's "open-minded" and "knows what the people want" despite the fact that he probably never leaves NY unless he's doing something in L.A.
