If Navy Seals were unstoppable killing machines they would all parlay those skills into becoming the top prize fighters of the world.

Actually they probably wouldn't. UFC pays their fighters shite, so it wouldn't be worth it for them when they probably make more money doing navy seal stuff over being a peon for the UFC.

These debates are always dumb. Pro fighters do nothing but fight. Just about every day. Straight fight, and one is a pro MMA guy, much less JJ, the fighter wins 100 of 100 times.

That's not to say a SEAL can't fight, they just don't have the time to train in just hand to hand combat. They've got lots of other shite to worry about.

Agreed.

If it’s a true boxer vs a seal in a street fight then maybe there’s an argument. But Jones is a street fighter and basically the badest dude in the world. No contest

There’s plenty of videos online of MMA fighters training commandos. The MMA guys look like they aren’t even breaking a sweat when they spar with the military guys.

Training in different techniques. One trains fitnthe rules of the octagon, the other to eliminate. State of mind matters. If you're trying to knock someone out and the other is trying to kill you it is a different type of attack

Jon Jones vs. 3 pitbulls attacking a toddler?

Keep in mind that Jones gets disqualified if he sacrifices the child.

I agree a fight to the death would be Jones favor, just wanted to bring it up because it seemed like some people were talking in terms of an exhibition fight.

Sure, but we’re talking about the man who can barely follow the rules as it stands

If there is a camp for this theoretical death match, the bigger struggle will be steroids vs. cocaine in a world where he can use both freely and not have to hide from USADA or the cops

Hand to hand there isn’t anybody on the planet that’s beating Jones in a regulated fight.

Now if it’s on a street somewhere where the seal can use the environment around him then Jones is probably getting stabbed before he even knows he is in a fight.

A professional fighter is gonna win because he regularly trains to fight. A seal might be tough but if he isn’t training to fight regularly, then he isn’t gonna be good at fighting
