I've made zero posts on reddit in my life. Not sure what the implication is or how that would change how incorrect your ideas in this thread are

I’ll take the average pro fighter over seal any day in hand to hand whether it’s MMA boxing kickboxing etc

Aside from fighting seals need to kill, land/seal nav if needed, know about explosives and medicine if eod and medics aren’t present ied detection etc

You debate this like one of those TDS posters on there. I merely posted some things to consider. A simple "I disagree" would have sufficed. Didnt happen here. I even brought up refining the debate. Lete insult. Whether I'm completely right or completely wrong it saps away any of the fun this thread was meant to provide

It was kind of mean, sure. But this is one of those flat earther type things to where it's really not worth having a debate. Seals are elite relative to the average person at more than just a few things, but they stand a negative chance of beating JBJ in a physical altercation.

It sure how many different ways I need to say it. I believe a seal's training to be more suited to incapacitation/death

What do you think every hold in BJJ is designed to do? Kill, maim or break. Period.

Jones would destroy any seal, anywhere in hand to hand combat.

Your argument isnt without merit. I feel like it would be better if we defined the seal

A SEAL and an MMA fighter train for two entirely different things. It’s apples and oranges. SEALS are taught CQB, but that is a last resort. SEALS want to shoot you and move on. They don’t want to get in a fist fight. I’m not saying SEALS don’y know how to fight, because they do. They have their own discipline of MMA that is specific to their jobs. So, yes. If you put a SEAL in a cage with Jon Jones, my money is on Jones. But if you put Jon Jones on the battlefield, I’ll take the SEAL all day long.

These are two professionals in two entirely different worlds. It’s not a fair comparison at all.

ETA: That fight would never happen anyway. Jon Jones is, what, 220 pounds? SEALS are not typically that heavy. They tend to be short and light.

I think the better question is “What does Jon Jones’s BAC have to be for this to be a fair fight?”

Is the Seal allowed to sneak him from behind? That's really his only chance but I hear they're pretty good at that.

A Seal would get their arse beat in a straight hand to hand competition with UFC, but no Seal would fight that way. They’re fighting for their life, they would make something into a weapon or do whatever they have to to gain an advantage.

People out here really thinking your average Seal is on some Jason Bourne shite.

I know a former Seal that tried to make a Youtube channel demonstrating survival skills and different tactics. He quit the channel because he failed at half the stuff he attempted to demonstrate. In my favorite video he jumps into a freezing lake in the middle of the night then hops out and tries to start a fire. He spends five minutes shivering and trying to start it before saying frick it and ending the video.

I looked for the channel but it looks like he's taken it down. It was this guy, though. LINK

(<< off subject but that video is pretty funny because he's talking about "not seeking recognition" and being a "quiet professional" but IRL he lets everyone know he used to be a Seal within 30 seconds of being introduced and that he went to BUDS with Chris Kyle.)
