I see way more articles about people dying while running than while sitting on the couch

I’ve read more stories about people dying while trying to blow themselves (1) than people dying on their couch (0). But I’d bet more die on their couches.

Subdivision with 1 of the best golf courses in the state

It was the best campground back in the 70s.

One of my greatest fears as a runner since Louisiana is too poor for sidewalks

My neighborhood has sidewalks and many people jog all of the time. Every single one of them jog in the streets. They never use the sidewalks.

I just had this dark humor kind of analogy pop into my head.

You know how when you're walking along and someone is walking in your direction and you both correct in the same direction. I imagined the jogger and driver both doing that.

Because my first thought was that neither party was paying attention. Well, what if they were both paying attention, but made the wrong decisions. Yeah, yeah, it's dumb.

In any case, pedestrians get hit all the time.

Ralph was a friend of mines father. He lived in Money Hill and regularly jogged through there. He was a very nice man.

Definitely a big pIece I see missed in my neighborhood every single day. Sometimes there isn't anything you can do about it but running against and letting cyclists ride with goes a long long way.

Yep. Its amazing to me how many people I see that run or walk in the right lane with their back faced towards oncoming traffic.

I have always run against the traffic so I am not relying on the cars seeing me... I avoid them.
