Spinoff of the replaced with robots thread.
What jobs no longer exist that used to be common?

My first ever job as a teen was a full service gas station attendant. It was a rare thing in 1998 already.
I think only New Jersey still has them.

My dad went up to Oregon a year or so ago and I’m pretty sure he said they had them up there too.

I’ve seen em on 95 in Maryland too.

I drove down to Tijuana a couple weeks ago and they have attendants that pump your gas. I dont speak Spanish so it was pretty interesting trying to get them to understand I wanted to be topped off.

Be careful. You could lose your kidneys that way.

There are very few jobs associated with printing left.

Thirty years ago every town had a newspaper that needed to be printed and at least one commercial print shop.

There is a full service gas station here in New Roads. They charge around $.25 more per gallon. Many old folks use them.

They check all fluids and top off, check air in tires.
