I am a Regional Manager for a large medical-device company and we won't even look at anyone without a BA or BS degree and I'm guessing most won't. I have had tons of female friends with a two-year Associate's Degree try to get in the industry- some who would have likely done very well- and I couldn't help them and would have been scolded for even passing on their resume to HR. I can't speak for the Pharma industry.

Similar to pharmaceutical rep, I know a couple young ladies that are into medical sales for the material to do hip and knee replacements and spine fusion surgeries that make well over $100K a year.

In my sector (cardiac device sales) you better know your shite. Most of our female sales reps are older with a good track record of performance and most are not lookers but are very sharp and driven. Our clinical reps are all RN's or BSN's- some are attractive and most are older (40+).

I dated a woman who was a bartender in an upscale Scottsdale bar and she was tracking to make $100K+ with a 401K. She said one married couple would come in and tip her $250 every time (not swingers).

A few elite models make good money consistently if represented by the top agents. The majority can make some sporadically. Many aspiring models have the same chance of a long successful career as your son does of making the NFL, NBA or MLB. I knew a few who made college fund money before they could get a drivers license doing tv commercials and product images and one who got $200/hr. for swimwear and as much as $5000 for a magazine cover.
That is not accounting for the internet Instagram, etc. "models".
