As a white guy, I'm shocked there are as many white people there are in the game. The game is about speed and athleticism, plain and simple. Why do you think coaches are so expendable or that when a superstar goes to a different team, they're automatically contenders? What I find funny about basketball is that it's the easiest sport to transition to yet it's probably got the highest amount of busts who are in and out of the league asap.

This is just grossly inaccurate. Why do you think the salary cap just increased by 30%?

That chart does nothing to prove me wrong. The NBA playoffs have become much watch in a lot of circles. It may not be popular with old white guys and women; but it's insanely popular with younger white people

I think it is a self fulfilling prophecy across all sports. If you are a very athletic white kid, from day 1 the media, your parents, your coaches, etc etc steer you to play Baseball or QB or tennis etc etc. If you are a very athletic black kid the media, your parents, your coaches, etc etc steer you to play basketball, running back, etc etc.
Now, would there still be more black basketball players and white qbs? Prolly so. But the numbers wouldnt be nearly as lopsided.

I will get blasted for this but I don't care. Why is it that we have all of this diversity bullshite. Talk about not enough black coaches or black executives in pro sports. They want the numbers higher for blacks. Talk about their being so many black athletes but not a equal number of coaches an front office people. Well turnabout is fair play. Why have we allowed the numbers of blacks on the fields and courts to become so lopsided. If you want more blacks in the front offices, then lets get more whites back on the field.

You're article is from 2011. This year's NBA Finals had a huge viewership and I would be willing to bet that the Warriors opening game tomorrow niggt is going to have ridiculous ratings as well.

White kids are definitely playing soccer and golf and baseball way more than basketball and football these days.
We're going to see fewer and fewer white kids playing big time college basketball and football.
Interesting question is will popularity start to wane among white viewers when LSU/Alabama games have no white players except for kickers and snappers? Doesn't seem like it now but I feel like over time it would start to hurt viewership.
I am not watching as much NFL and doubt I'll watch much NBA because of the SJW mentality and the anthem stuff, but I think a little of it was me already trending that way and this made the break much easier. When Brady and Brees are gone that's two more bit attachments to the NFL that I'll no longer have.

It is just a snapshot from 2011. I said the NBA is getting more popular each year and since 2011 the NBA finals and playoff ratings have gone up
Basketball is popular with youth the medium basketball fan age is 37 vs the MLBs 53. Plus the NBA is the most GIFable sport. Players are becoming starts off of their vines.

I'm white and far from 'urban'. Also am a Rockets season ticket holder and love the NBA. FWIW, I'm not the only white guy in the arena.
With that said the NBA is the perfect balance of size and athleticism. I don't think it's a secret across all sports that 'skill positions' are dominated by the black race mostly due to genetic superiority and more dedication and focus in some cases from a much younger age. It is what it is. Not understanding why people feel the need to argue about it.

Because white people think that black people are so much better at basketball because of the perception so they are scared to play the game.. For some reason, black people intimidate some white people.

That chart does not show a decrease in white fans. If anything look at the age breakdown and you could guess that interest in the NBA will increase across all ethnicities.
