JJ Redick wants to know why are there so few white Americans in NBA

“This is the first year where I’m like, ‘You know what, there are not a lot of white guys in the NBA,’ ” Redick told The Undefeated. “I was looking at the free agent list of guys still out there. I saw Chris Kaman, Kirk Hinrich. Those guys have all been in the league since I’ve been in the league.
“I was messing with Doc Rivers about it. The best white guy is probably Kevin Love. It’s interesting. Someone who has way more time on their hands, it would be an interesting idea to kind of figure out what is happening.”

The hard labor of slavery gave physical gifts to their ancestors. More blacks play basketball from a very young age and develop the skills to go along with the physical attributes.

Because NBA scouts value athleticism more than game skill and game IQ. I'm saying this as a black man who's played and love the game of organized basketball.

The team owners are majority white I believe

The NBA isn't a league anymore where guys that are students of the game and bring their lunch pails to work everyday are welcomed. Duh.

I actually think this has more to do with it. It's an "urban" game dominated by their "culture". I think the physical differences are very apparent in sports like football, where you know tons of white kids want to be the running back or wide receiver, but just can't compete. In basketball, I think that although their is a HUGE physical aspect, if more white people went back to the game, there'd be at least more white guys at the high level.

Yep just like they look at physical attributes more than skill. (Brock Osweiler versus Russel Wilson)

Racist selection of players. It's not right.

Think about it like this. Communist countries grab the kids and tell them you are a swimmer, weigh lifter, etc. That's a very basic way to look at it but I'm sure the point gets across. We have a similar process but it isn't gov't sponsored so to speak. You start young and do nothing but play the game and you will have superior skills.

Whites are historically the "owners".

I stopped playing basketball after high school. Always getting dunked on and having those nuts go right into your forehead just gets tiring.

please tell me he just called Alton Sterling "Donald Sterling". oh the irony that he issue is so menial that redick can't even get his name right.
edit: NVM that was the Clippers owner's name. damn thought I was on to something good.
