This is more cowardly than any other option he had available.
1. Cancel yourself. That’s EXACTLY what he would have wanted from someone else and exactly what he should have done, considering his morals and beliefs.
2. Own it and tell everyone to frick off.
3. Ride it out at home until people inevitably forget and move on.
