Because the talent you speak of isn't journalism...it's being divisive. People like Stern perfected it and then Colin Cowherd started a college on it. Matt Moscona graduated from there I believe and tutored T-Bob but all T-Bob learned was how to yell and talk in a fake slang / street / minority accents.

Maybe he invested his early year's earnings into things like Apple or Amazon and didn’t blow it on fast cars and boats.

Or maybe he is just wildly popular

$1 million invested at 10% (maybe a little high) for 30 years, will be worth $17 million.

I enjoyed his show back in the early 2000s. Dude was huge, and would sell out arenas for a live radio show.
middle 90s I had a student job making deliveries for an LSU campus office. I could just be gone all day and they’d radio me if they needed me to pick up anything.

I just drove around campus Listening to jim Rome. Great times.

110 million.

This blows my mind that a no talent arse clown can make this much

Jealous? You don't sniff $100 Mil without talent in some form or fashion.

Just because you didn't like him doesn't mean he wasn't fire in the 90's on ESPN.

Dude created a genre of talk radio. Look at guys like Miscona who immolate Jims style. Half if ESPN's line up are cheap knockoffs of 1990's Jim Rome.

Most Louisiana/Saints fans don't like him because of the Chris/Jim Everett thing but it was scripted whether Jim knew it or not. Dude was a genius and made bank because of it.

Dude did a full 2 hour (iirc) set without taking one single caller, and still blew away all the competition at the time.

His only contemporary of the time was Rush.

It always gives me a chuckle when I see comments like this. "No talent arse clown" and "net worth 110 million" don't go together genius.

is he that good at his craft and I just can't see it?

Yeah, the second one.

And ftr, I never liked the guy. I became a big Jim Everett fan when the incident happened. But he obviously has/had talent that was appealing to some.

Not a Jim Rome guy, but his take on Grandpa Joe was hilarious and spot on.

…..but invested smartly.

The link is from a clickbait website that takes easily discoverable public knowledge (such as a media contract in this case) and extrapolates that to "know" what a persons net worth is. It has nothing to do with where or if he invests his money. Unless Rome chose to share his personal financial information and tax returns, his net worth is nothing but a wild arse guess.

Everett was trying not to laugh and almost blew the whole bit.

Dude has had his own Radio show for over 20 years. And he's had multiple TV shows. No Talent is not something I would use to describe him. You don't last in that industry that long with no talent.

Hearing the name "Jim Rome" always reminds me of his take on the Saints-Vikings NFCCG in 2009

Um no. Shared Belief was a gelding and was put down due to colic. Made almost 3 million. Misdirection won
a few Breeders cup races with 1.7 million in earnings. She was sold at an auction. So the math is almost 5 million for both, but he had partners, vet bills, day rates. That was more of a hobby for him and probably made a small profit.

You'd think that $100M would buy the guy a decent goatee.
