eff Bezos is the richest person in modern history.

The Amazon.com Inc. founder’s net worth broke $150 billion in New York on Monday morning, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. That’s about $55 billion more than Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, the world’s second-richest person.

Bezos, 54, has now topped Gates in inflation-adjusted terms. The $100 billion mark that Gates hit briefly in 1999 at the height of the dot-com boom would be worth about $149 billion in today’s dollars. That makes the Amazon chief executive officer richer than anyone else on earth since at least 1982, when Forbes published its inaugural wealth ranking.

His net worth has soared by $52 billion this year, which is more than the entire fortune of Mukesh Ambani, the newly crowned richest person in Asia. It also puts Bezos’s personal fortune within spitting distance of the Walton family’s $151.5 billion, which is the world’s richest dynasty.

I’m about to start spamming him on Twitter asking if he’ll throw me $10K to pay off my student loans for good.

Couldn’t hurt

It always amazed me how the "pay their fair share" crowd never goes after Bezos

Maybe not politically, but it's becoming more and more common for the "commoners" to call out Amazon for terrible working conditions and low wages.

If I were a Bernie bro, I’d make the infantile claim that Bezos somehow made all of that money at the expense of the middle class.

Instead, I say “Thank you, Mr. Bezos for all of the innovation and progress that you’ve brought to this country and the world. I always hated leaving my house to shop. It’s money well earned. Keep pushing.”

Sure, but the political witch hunts are always the most influential. But again, crickets.

His time will come, I didn’t think golden boy Musk would have the heel turn so quickly but I am glad that fraud is getting roasted.

It’s pretyy watching reddit be conflicted on their golden boy

Your comparison is many millions of visitors/users versus a few thousand.

What's more interesting is just how little Bezos gives back to charity

Bill Gates gave away something like 4 billion last year, Bezos? Nah
