Such as...?

I spent about 8 hours in a 2014 JGC Overland this weekend. Some things that it had that our 4Runner doesn't is cooled seats, leather dash, and some features within the audio system. Our 4Runner isn't decked out like the JGC is tho.

I was in this same dilemma last summer and went with the 4runner. Grand Cherokee is more luxurious inside and slightly more pay load. Rides are about the same. I think the JGC is smaller inside.

FWIW, I owned a JGC when I was in college.

Wife has a JGC. We bought it when we found out she was preggers but before we bought a car seat. BIG frickING MISTAKE. The back seat has so much less room than I thought. The front passenger seat is so far forward that I don't have room to sit in it. Now we take my truck if I plan on having a few drinks because I refuse to sit there. Other than that she loves it

Good grief! How tall are you? I am 6'2"" and bought a 2015 JGC. before I did I set both the driver's and passenger front seat where they were comfortable for me and then made sure there was room for me behind each seat in the back and there is plenty of room. It is by no means going to be as much room as an F-150 or Suburban, but that is obvious because they are different types of vehicles.

Subaru Outback. Do the research. Dumped my oversized SUV and bought an Outback Ltd. Great decision.

My wife just traded in a 2013 loaded out Explorer for a 2015 Limited 4Runner and she loves her new ride. She got tired of the front dragging on the curbs and shite in parking lots and wanted something that sits a little higher.

If comparing the Limited to the Overland here are a couple that don't come stock that the Overland has. I think its pretty widely accepted that the Jeep has more features inside but the Toyota is more reliable and has a better resale value.

Half the size sunroof
Heated steering wheel
automatic lift gate
Blind spot detection
Automatic cruise control that regulates speed based on car in front of you
Smaller LCD screen

I'm also not seeing remote start as standard with the limited, I must be missing it though cause that can't be correct.

Bought my '13 JGC Overland new and have almost 32k on it. Zero problems thus far. It's my first American car (previously drove a Tundra to 125k) so I bought an extended warranty to 75k miles. If you want the Jeep but also want reassurance, buy the warranty. It bumped up my monthly note by like $35 and if anything major happens, it will have been money well spent.

We bought one off the lot and didn't have time to actually shop for one, so my knowledge on what the can come with is limited.

I knew about the smaller screen, sunroof size and the heated wheel. I really like the GJC Overland, two of my best friends have them and they're very nice.

And speaking of limited, I have a buddy with a 2012 Limited that has keyless go, but I don't know if it has remote start.

I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee 4x4 with 112k on it and haven't had any major issues with it yet.

Only minor things like light bulbs, spark plugs, belt, breaks, etc have needed attention.

The factory hydraulic lifts on the rear door are needing to finally be replaced. They're starting to not work very well and struggle to hold the door up when it's real cold out.

remote start is an option but it's a stupid option on the limited bc the car turns off when you open the doors

That is very surprising to me that a car that cost almost $45k doesn't have remote start. Its one of those things that you probably don't think you need but once you have it there is no way I'm going back to not having a remote start.

Depends on what year. Older models get the 4Runner. Newer models get the Cherokee

I have a 1997 4Runner. I've had it since Feb 2009 and have only had to take it to the shop for something other than oil change/tune up 1 time. The two metal pieces that spark the ignition were wearing down so I had to turn the key a few times to get it to start. Less than $100 to put in new metal pieces. Forgive me for my automotive ignorance but it has been a great car for me.

I had a buddy with a 4Runner that hit 230k miles... and the resale is higher than JEEP on a Toyota.

I feel like it's a similar difference between an Camry and an A4

Just so there is no misunderstanding, the blind spot detection and the adaptive cruise control are part of the advance technology option on the Overland JGC, they are not standard.
