Plan to buy a slighty used 4Runner (limited) or Grand Cherokee (Overland) in the next few months... budget is around $35k

I was leaning towards the 4Runner for reliability purposes, but the Grand Cherokee is sexy as hell.

Talk me into one or the other...

If you want to buy a new transmission and brakes and have the blue book value plummet after a year get the jeep

Love both of them. But I'd probably go with the JGC depending on what you plan on using it for.

it would be nice if the 4runner had a V8 option

Just got a 4Runner. Nice looking car and drives much better than JGC. You can run for them for 150K.

My in laws have a Jeep GC Overland. It is a very nicely appointed vehicle. I particularly like the adjustable airbag suspension.

Subaru Outback. Do the research. Dumped my oversized SUV and bought an Outback Ltd. Great decision.

Get a jeep if you can get one with a V8. Cherokee is also a little bigger than the 4Runner.

That being said, we just bought a 2015 4Runner and like it A LOT. SR5 premium, step under Limited.

I like both of them, especially the limited and the overland.

This can't be true can it? I have a JCG and it feels much smaller than every 4runner I've been in.

Grand cherokee is smaller.

Has one less row of seats as well.

One of my best friends has a JGC and we have a 4Runner. Feels a tad smaller width wise IMO.

We also have a third row in the 4Runner, JGC doesn't. Rode 6 adults comfortably around town one evening. Wouldn't want to ride back there for an extended period of time, but you can slide the center seats forward to make room. Center row also reclines a little as well.

I feel like the 4Runner is longer, but the JGC is wider. A quick googling revealed more cubic feet of cabin space with the 4runners seats folded vs the Jeep.
