https://www.wbrz.com/news/gov-edwards-louisiana-schools-expected-to-open-on-time-in-august/

quote:

When schools open their doors for the Fall semester, they'll be expected to follow guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Some of these guidelines include:

-Classrooms will be adjusted to keep all seating/desks well-spaced, with at least 6 feet of distance between one another.

-Instead of utilizing school cafeterias for communal breakfast/lunch serving and dining, students will either bring their own meals, or staff will serve individually plated meals in classrooms.

- School bus staff will ensure that students who ride the bus practice social distancing.

Going to be interesting logistically social distancing on buses that bus 50+ kids squeezed together. You cant fit more than 10-15 kids in a class 6 ft apart either.

I'm guessing they are going to stagger kids and have half capacity on every other day. Otherwise I don't see it, you cant run twice the bus routes either.

I wonder if the media fear mongering is going to start targeting Louisiana.

That's what we want, correct? Distracted bus drivers? What could go wrong?

Phase 3 does not require 6 feet of space

So assuming we are in phase 3, we would not need the 6 foot rule

For frick’s sake, kids are the least in danger regarding severity of this disease, have proven to be very poor vectors of transmission to and from adults, and are the ones who need the social interaction more than anyone else. Just open the frick back up

Schools will utilize their own phased approach, we already have one in place that is not the general phased one states are using.

The school bus restrictions I'm reading about in several states make NO sense.

These buses are going to have to double or triple route in many cases.

Be prepared to have kids fed ice cold food by the time it’s delivered to the classroom
That or they are going to feed them nothing but sandwiches

Transportation and Child Care are the two main hurdles for changing school from normal in the fall.

Transportation is already a HUGE chunk of districts general funding budget, the poorer parishes cannot afford to double or triple those costs.

Not to mention you are then picking up kids at 5am or maybe even earlier in rural areas to get everyone there.

You cant do virtual or hybrid bc who the hell is going to watch your kids?

Should be zero restrictions. Kids are not at risk.

I've been in the head start Pre-K centers.

They load up a rolling cart and bring it to each classroom and serve the kids, the cart is heated

Nimrods don't care about the cost of any of this BS. They all think we can just print more money non stop and it will fix things.

Prepare for the stupidity of closing schools back down by early September. Once three of four kids get it in any given school, snowflake parents are going to want their kids back home.

One of my clients owns a school bus company. They put 2-3 in each seat, every seat. They charge by the route, not by the kid, but if they have to run two routes because you only put one kid per seat, the schools are going to have to pay for two routes.
