Going to cut TOPS by 62%. Minimum ACT 26

Should just legalize weed but I guess that's to obvious of a thing to do

Good. It should have never had such low requirements to begin with.

Elections have consequences. I don't know why peel think democrats are going to help them in any way.

If they aren't going to get rid of it entirely, it should be a lot higher than what it was.
With the ACT score as low as it was, it was putting people in college that had no hope of actually getting a worthwhile degree. A lot of them would just flunk out/leave and the taxpayer's investment goes up in smoke.
I'm still surprised there is no "you have to stay in Louisiana for 3+ years after graduation" stipulation of taking the TOPS money.

Link?
Is the savings due to the increase in the requirements

26 sounds perfectly reasonable to me. What say the board?

Will this be retroactive?
Will a kid with say a 24 on the ACT who is a Junior at LSU lose his tops?

damn, 26 on ACT, that's sounding like he wants to make it a legit scholarship that pays for tuition each year (7k give or take)

Wonder why all politicians are paid?
Should be a volunteered position.
Then we'd have lots of extra money for our state!

Going forward or making it retro to the beginning of tie?

So basically zero funding then.

Wasn't that proposed at one point?

Yep. Just high enough to keep the good white students in LSU.

I'm interested to see if this will be spun as a war on minorities
