Face shields are not replacements for masks.

I bet those people locked in nursing homes feel differently

They are locked on a room with no human contact other than a nurse that brings them meds or a CNA that brings them food & end up with it

What about the younger folks who don’t have underlying health issues and are out and about? I know of a couple in their 20’s with no health issues. They went to a party. They got the virus and were pretty ill. Most of the attendees tested positive. No telling who else they shared with before they knew they had it.

I’ve disagreed with many of your takes DS, but you’ve always come across as an intelligent man. And I believe you are spot on in this thread.

That you believe this bit I quoted means you are also a respectable one. Here here.

look at the LDH website. The worst region is LDH region 4 where there are 148 ICU beds in use and 31 available. That could be normal, or high above normal. But even if it is high there are still plenty of beds available.

and ventilators are far from being an issue.

I'm concerned about hospitalizations going up too, but I don't remember hospitals ever being overwhelmed even at it's peak.

Just like with everything else political, once you stand your ground, there’s no changing anyone’s mind.

We’re never going to see a decrease in numbers until people stop making it political and whining over trivial nonsense.

I just agree to disagree. I’ll wear a mask when I’m in public because I don’t want that shite again. I felt like death for 3 days.

They feel they will still get the virus? There is a slight chance, but only because they haven't eliminated all contact.

If this thing was killing 20% of the population you bet your arse I could keep myself from getting it. No doubt.

So if we wear masks for a few weeks, the virus will go away? We slow it down, then what?

Rinse and repeat until election.

There is no "plan". We will continue to pause life for a cold.

Because we tried that, people chose not to protect others, so we are seeing a spike again.

A mask may help you stop spreading it. It does very very little to stop you from getting it
