The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival survived fire, rain and Hurricane Katrina, but not the novel coronavirus.
The 2020 Jazz Fest has been canceled, its producers announced Thursday, after initially being postponed.

nah, next Latoya will say due to the festivals being cancelled the city is too broke to move forward and Trump needs to give them money to get back on their feet. Let the city crumble!

What’s the weather like today? It was originally scheduled to start in a week.

Can’t have 100,000 people outside together in city park... but we’ll have 70,000 people inside together for the Saints games.

They did move it to October, but now it is cancelled. Which is what the article says.
quote:
"As recently as an April 9 meeting of the Jazz and Heritage Foundation board via the online meeting platform Zoom, its 27 members were reportedly still considering various options and budgets for staging some form of the 2020 festival in October.
The final decision to cancel Jazz Fest reportedly involved the foundation’s executive committee and officers, and the festival's co-producers: Quint Davis’s Festival Productions Inc.-New Orleans and global live entertainment powerhouse AEG."

New Orleans is so screwed. There was going to be no business travel or tourism until the fall anyway and if they start cancelling everything in the fall, might as well just throw in the towel.
There is no way the feds can float all of the small businesses here for that long.
