It’s as if NOLA leadership can’t see the forest through the trees. They are so absolutely screwed and that city for that matter if there are no large events/sporting events through next year. I can’t even believe they’re that blind to biting the hand that feeds them.
If it just saves one life I guess...

Just remember we received $1.8 BILLION in sales taxes collected from tourism in Louisiana in 2019.

It feels like I’m taking crazy pills. I can’t believe they’re willing to throw that all away and cripple the economy like that for this virus.

Destroya will then go on CNN saying that Trump should have done this. After which, she will then ask Fed gov for billions

Its more on Jazz Fest probably not wanting to invest money into this year's setup and production and have it all wasted when 1/4 of the crowd shows up later in the year.
FQF is a much cheaper setup and probably has less money invested into it. It's still a possibility, unless Latoya cancels people from going into the streets.

this
ive already heard that many of the big acts could not agree to come again in october. They were going to have to re-do the whole schedule as it was

I said in another thread...Jazz Fest was never going to happen...
The Fairgrounds wasnt going to let that happen in October right before race season... and with Buku being moved to Labor Day weekend along with Decadence Fest..and FQF being Oct 1st and Voodoo in City Park at the end of October....there was no time or location for JF to set up and tear down

I think FQF is the most likely to survive.
Buku and Voodoo wont survive but thats just my opinion

Maybe next year, they can book a line-up worth attending.

I am having a hard time wondering how some folks aren’t getting this. The city would LOVE to have Jazz Fest. It’s just not plausible for a myriad of reasons.

no one in their right mind thought Jazz Fest was actually going to happen.....even the people that put it on....hence they never even released a date

That stinks about Voodoo. It’s more than six months away and is an outdoor concert. Seems like they could have waited a little longer to decide.

How is this just now getting canceled? It wasn't canceled weeks ago?
