Probably "visiting" someone who was staying at a Hampton Inn, then "fell down a hill" after a disagreement.

4) there’s a hill at the Hampton Inn?
We got trapped at the Hampton Inn, in Cookeville, TN one am after loading up and trying to get back on the road.
There is one way in to it and two other hotels and they’re way up a steep hill and no way to drive out (I may have braved it solo in my truck if not on long road trip w kids and dogs). A long car carrier/wrecker had gone up and bottomed out going out, blocking everyone for hours.
There was an animal show in town so I got to play with an albino opossum. Exotic birds.
No hookers or celebs. Well I’m sure some of the methers milling about have sucked a cockatoo.

Outside of buying cars, Jay is notoriously frugal/cheap. He still works like 7 days per week despite being worth around $400 million. He has a drive about him and at his age I would think that is catching up to him thinking he can still push like he used to.
I remember that when he was doing the Tonight Show, he said he banked/invested every single cent he made of Tonight Show salary and ONLY lived on/spent the money he made from touring like 300 nights per year.. i guess his rationale was that it made him feel closer to his ‘road comic’ roots and never wanted to forget where he came from, something along those lines .

When I lived in Cali, Jay had a schedule at the Hermosa Beach Comedy Club every Sunday night to do a full set and I went to see it a few times. That was after a full week of filming and doing other sets all over L.A. Just nuts how hard he pushes himself.
I used to frequent the Paisano’s Pizza next door to that club, after countless weekends spent on the nearby Hermosa Pier, usually at Sharkeez, Hennessey’s, Fat Face Fenners and the Poop Deck.. what a time to be alive .

Not sure I'm buying that story. Why on earth would he try that hill? Any rational h7man wouldn't. Also the injuries are all on one side. Rolling down that hill would injure all sides not just one.

Didn't he get seriously burned working on one of his vintage cars?

That isnt a hill falling down injury, that is a got hit with a bat injury

He was making north of 30mil? on tonight show and cut that in half to keep some staff from being laid off. And banked all that. He still did Vegas gig and touring
Jay seems like the all American dude. Self made fortune, passionate about cars(buying tearing down/rebuilding etc), and down to earth hard working
What's not to like about the guy

IIRC the steam explosion burned that same side of his face. That side probably took the recent damage worse than if it had been on him for many decades.

Damn, he has some bad luck.

Which part of having garages full of cars is frugal?
Posted on 11/20/24 at 8:23 am to Fun Bunch
Yeah he is frail. Didn't an engine blow up in his face when he was leaning over it recently?
Dude is a walking train wreck.

No different than obtuse1 collecting panerai and rolex watches except if Jay ever sells he'll get a premium on top of the value since he was the prior owner.

I was coming to post this. Supposedly he never spent a time of his Tonight Show money, banked every paycheck. When he was doing the Tonight show he still did stand up most weekends and this is what he lived off of.
He voluntarily took a huge pay cut in order to avoid staff lay offs at one time(during a writers strike?).
He doesn't drink or have any apparent vices. By all accounts he is a good dude who has simple taste other than cars.
